Dear Parents/Carers

warning-64School Closes Thursday 3.25pm/3.30pm – a reminder that school closes today for half term and reopens on Monday 31st October.

Stay off the Grass! It’s that time of year again when you’ll start hearing me and Mrs Taylor singing out our reminders at the end of the day! 🤣 Please keep to the paths and remind your children to stay off the grass around school. It is getting really muddy now, thank you.

Halloween Events – On Monday 31st October, children can come in their own clothes or a Halloween costume for a £1 fee. Remember to leave any costume weapons at home. After school there will be a Halloween bun sale at the front of school so remember to bring some cash to pay. Over the half term the PTA is running a competition to design a Halloween mask and/or take a photo of your carved pumpkin. See the PTA Facebook page for more details.

Parents Meetings will be bookable through the Arbor app. These have not been released yet but will be after half term. The dates are 22nd, 23rd and 24th November and will be after school.

Coffee Morning for Oak Class parents – the newly elected PTA are hosting a coffee morning for Oak class families on 11th November, 9-10.30am. Please enter school via the front door to sign in if you’d like to come.

Christmas Shopping Morning Saturday 19th November 9am – 12pm

Remember, you can drop your children off at school on this Saturday morning so you can get some Christmas shopping or jobs done. Children will need to bring their own water bottle and snacks for the session.

School Attendance Update – This week the North Yorkshire School Attendance Officer has been in touch with the school. From now on, we will need to ask for medical proof (e.g. prescription, appointment card, doctor’s note) when a pupil is absent due to illness more than 12 sessions (6 days) in a half term. If your child has an appointment with a medical professional or dentist in school time, parents/carers must send the office a copy of the appointment card/letter.

erin-mckenna-kFbSKhukfIQ-unsplashThe Christmas Green Elf Project Show – Wednesday 14th December

NEW for 2022 The Harrogate Father Christmas Experience is also producing an educational theatre show called THE GREEN ELF PROJECT… It’s a show for schools designed to encourage sustainability at Christmas.… Some of you may have been and will be looking forward to going again this year to see Father Christmas & Tinsel the Elf for their famous Elf workshop shows….

In addition to this, thanks to a group of local companies working together, 800 local primary school children will be visiting Enchantica’s Elf Village to see The Green Elf Project show at the Cedar Court Hotel for FREE. The great news is that Coppice Valley have been selected to be one of the schools who will be gifted this experience. We are going on Wednesday 14th December, during school time. School is currently organising transport to the hotel for which there will be a small cost. More information will be shared over the next few weeks but in the meantime if you would like to book to go to Elf Village with your family and friends at the weekend and support the magic that Enchantica’s are creating this Christmas here is a link for you to book. We know they would be very grateful for your support.

Have a lovely half term!

Kind regards,

Emma Meadus
