Friday update from the Headteacher
Posted 15th July 2022
Thank you for your support at our fair last week. We look to have made around £2,500 which is amazing. This means we have met our library project target for the installation and can use the surplus to start restocking the library with new books.
Our new library furniture was installed this week and it looks fantastic! We have a big job on now to get the books back in and tidy up all the mess. I will post photos of how it is looking next week and we hope to have an opening event in September when it is all completed
Hot Weather Warning
The DfE has issued hot weather advice for schools, which we will be following on Monday and Tuesday. This means we will keep the blinds closed, the windows open and we won’t be taking the children outside in the middle of the day. We won’t be doing PE at all, inside or outside, as it is not advisable in such high temperatures. Please make sure children have a water bottle – we will be having more regular drink breaks. Send your children with sun cream on and a sunhat as we may take an early morning break outside, if temperatures allow. Clothing wise, our summer school uniform should be fine but if you are concerned your child could overheat they can wear their school PE kit (not football kits or non-uniform kits) if you think wearing a PE kit is going to be cooler on Monday and Tuesday. We are also trying to source hundreds of ice-pops today so we can use these to cool off each afternoon!
Mrs Ainsworth is leaving us at the end of term to start a new position at Keeble Primary school in Thirsk. Mrs Ainsworth is going to miss all the children very much. We will all miss her too; I want to thank her for her work and commitment to the school over the last six years. Good luck in your new role, Mrs Ainsworth!
Move Up Day Today – Pick up Places
This afternoon the children will spend time with their next teacher. You will need to pick them up in the following places please. You’re also invited to come in for a quick talk from your child’s new teacher all about what’s in store next year.

Have a great weekend
