Coppice Valley bears

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a good half term.

iStock_000004276320XSmallThis half term goes really quickly as we move towards Christmas. It’s a very exciting time in school for the children as we start to practice our Christmas songs and decorate our classrooms.

Dates for this term:

Friday 11th November – Oak Parents Coffee Morning hosted by the PTA. Oak parents please sign in at the front door of school for the coffee morning. This is an opportunity to meet fellow parents and our PTA.

Friday 18th November – Children in Need Day. Please wear something spotty or own clothes to school in return for a donation to Children in Need. You can make your donation via ParentPay which will have a Children in Need donation selection available.

Saturday 19th November, 9am-12pm, Christmas Shopping Childcare morning – you can leave your children (just Coppice Valley children, no siblings I’m afraid!) with us for the morning while you do some Christmas jobs. I will be sending out an EventBrite booking link on Monday 7th November for you to book a free place.

Wednesday 30th November – Whole School Pantomime Trip. We will be walking the children to the pantomime which starts at 10am. We are leaving promptly after register is taken, so please be in school by 8.55am. Children need to be in school uniform, with a suitable coat and comfortable shoes. The PTA are providing snacks and drinks. We will return to school for a late lunch.

Thursday 8th December – Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children. Children can wear a Christmas jumper or top to school for a donation to the Save the Children charity. We are hoping to arrange a Christmas jumper swap at school before the event, so hang onto any of your outgrown Christmas tops for now please. More details to come.

Wednesday 14th December – Green Elf Show at the Cedar Court Hotel. We are very lucky to have been given free tickets for all children to attend, as part of our Year of Giving Back campaign. We are booked in for two viewings, one at 9.30am and one at 10.30am. We have hired a coach to transport the younger children (Oak, Beech and Ash classes) to the first showing while the older children will walk there in time for the 10.30am showing.

Thursday 15th December – Carol Service at St John & St Luke Together Church, Bilton Lane. The service starts at 2pm but I would advise giving yourself plenty of time to get parked and in the church. From experience, the roads around the church get very busy so please get there early. We will walk the children to the church. Children need collecting from the church please unless your child is booked into an activity club or afterschool club; staff will walk these children back to school.

Friday 16th December – we break up at 2pm. No after school club or activity clubs on this day.
