Coppice Valley Primary School (93)

Good morning everyone!

We have a busy weekend ahead with the KS1 sleepover and a weekend residential too. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us so we get to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. If we’re looking after your children this weekend, make the most of it and enjoy yourselves!

Children will be bringing home a Sponsored Bounce Form today or on Monday if at the sleepover/residential. The sponsored bounce is one of the children’s favourite days of the year; it’s so much fun and a great way to raise funds. We’re doing really well with the library fund raising. We need to raise £1700 more by the end of term to reach our target to get both a KS1 and KS2 library installation. We thought it would take us 2 years but we’ve almost done it in 10 months!  Please do encourage friends and family to sponsor the event to help us get to the finish line. We still have the library project Just Giving page if friends and family further afield want to donate online.

Ice Pops Fridays is starting again! Bring your change along on a Friday to buy ice pops from our PTA. They’ll be at the front of school selling delicious treats every Friday until we break up. All proceeds to the library fund.

School Jotter App – with our new website, the school jotter app is no longer available, so please delete it from your devices. We will be using email as a primary means of communication. Please make sure we have the email address you want us to use and check your junk folder regularly for school emails.

This month is Pride month and next week is Refugee week. As a Positive Identities beacon school, I’ll be doing an assembly next week about what Pride month is about. I’ll also be talking to the children about what it means to be a refugee. We are currently working with a local group, Schools of Sanctuary, who seek to support refugee children and their families through schools. If you’re in town, pop into St Peter’s church as some of our work is being displayed in their Glass Foyer from June 18th – 24th.

There’s a lot of unnamed uniform, especially in the older classes. We’ve noticed that pre-loved uniform is sometimes not being renamed with the current owner, making it hard to get back to the right child. Please can you check that all your child’s clothes are named. If you are missing anything or need anything, please come to the lost property box in the entrance.
