Welcome Oak Class!
We now have all our new Reception starters in school. It’s been wonderful to see them exploring their new classroom and outdoor area. Welcome to Coppice Valley!
There are also new staff at Coppice Valley this term. A warm welcome to teaching assistants Mrs Stephenson in Oak and Mrs Scarisbrick in Chestnut. Welcome back to teachers Mrs Croxton and Mr O’Leary who have re-joined the Coppice Valley family. Mrs Chandler, who has worked as a teaching assistant for many years at Coppice Valley is now working alongside Mrs Taylor in the school office.
PTA FREE Game & Pizza Evening
Friday 7 October, 6-7.30 pm
The PTA will be running a fun, free game and pizza evening for families to attend in the school hall. The first fifteen minutes of the meeting will be the Annual General Meeting to elect a new Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. If you’re interested in taking up one of these roles please come along. After the AGM portion of the evening, there will be a beetle-drive game for all to play with pizza and cake to enjoy.
All are very welcome!
PTA Halloween Activities on Monday 31 October
On Monday 31 October, children may come into school in a Halloween costume or own clothes for a £1 fee. There will also be a Halloween cake stall after school so please remember to bring your change at pick up time to buy some treats.
Over half term (break up Thursday 20 October) if you do any pumpkin carving, take a photo and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org for a chance to win a prize. Children can also write a Halloween poem or make a mask which they can bring in on Monday 31st.
The PTA will reward the best with prizes.
Please don’t drop children off or leave them unattended before doors open at 8.45 am (main school) and 7.30 am (breakfast club). We do not take responsibility for children before these set times.
Christmas Shopping Morning Child Care November 19th
Save the date if you’d like to drop your child off at school so you can get some child-free shopping time in town. Some of our wonderful staff have volunteered to put on some fun activities in school to give our parents a well-deserved morning off. We will be open from 9 am until 12 pm. This will be a free event for you. More details nearer the time about how this will be organised.
Harrogate Theatre Pantomime Trip for the Whole School 30th November
We will be walking the whole school up to the pantomime on 30th November. The cost per child is £10 a ticket. I realise the cost of living crisis is affecting the choices we’re making about what we can and can’t afford so we are working hard to source business sponsorships and charity donations with the aim of covering the entire £2100 cost of the trip. We’ve already secured £500 from High Street TV towards this, which is wonderful! If your employer is open to donating to our panto-fund, then please do get in touch with me.
Our Autumn term parents’ meetings will be on 22nd November and Wednesday 23rd November, 3.30-6 pm. These will be in school, in person with an opportunity for you to see your child’s work and Autumn test papers (taken by Years 2-6). Details about booking an appointment will come out in due course.
