Coppice Valley Primary School (50)

Hello!

Art Exhibition

Tonight is the grand opening of our Art Exhibition. The children have been working really hard with Miss Hawkins and their class teachers to create some stunning artwork for you to see. The hall will be open from 3.30pm today until 4.30pm and again between 12-2pm on Saturday, when you can buy your child’s framed art.

Summer Fair

The Summer fair is finally here! This Saturday 9th July between 12-2 pm on our school field. Entry to event is free! Please enter the field via the path that runs along the side of the car park, up the zig-zag path and beside the cabin (the same way we used for the Jubilee garden party and sports day). You will be able to have your lunch at the fair from the BBQ and Café, we have a raffle with some amazing prizes and lots of fun stalls to try your luck at.

Reports

You will be receiving your children’s reports via email later today. There will be 2 emails per child – one with the report and one about attendance. Please check your junk if you haven’t received anything by 2 pm. Please email info@cvps.rklt.co.uk for support if you do not receive an email by 2 pm. If you’d like to discuss the report, please email your child’s teacher at the class account for an appointment next week.

Library Installation

The new libraries are going in this week! We are very excited! Please remember to be extra careful around the car park as the workers and lorries will be using the space.

KS1 and KS2 National SATs tests

If your child is in Year 2 or Year 6 your child’s report will tell you how they did in the national SATs tests. These are the first national tests since 2019. We have been delighted with both KS1 and KS2 results which are some of the strongest results we have ever had. In the KS2 tests, our results were comfortably above the national average in all subjects and early indications are that this is the same in KS1. I want to congratulate all the children on how well they have done and how hard they have worked this year. I must also acknowledge the input of all school staff who have got them to this stage through their hard work and expertise over the years including teaching every school day through the pandemic. Finally, a big thank you to all our parents who have supported at home with home-learning. It really is a team effort, thank you.

Great Yorkshire Show

Just a reminder to give yourself lots of extra time next week for drop off and pick up because the traffic will be awful due to the show.

Emma MeadusHave a great weekend. See you at the fair on Saturday!

Kind regards,

Emma Meadus
