Key Stage 2 Buddies

15 May 2020 (by schoollogin)

Would you make a good buddy for our new starters?

Oak Class teachers are in search of kind, reliable and helpful children to become buddies for our new intake for September 2020. You must be in Key Stage 2 in September 2020, which is Year 3,4,5 or 6. The role would include supporting the children in their transition into school, introducing yourself (possibly via video message), sending a letter over the summer to tell them about school, giving up some of your lunchtime to support them in finding their way around school. Starting school can be a big thing for our little ones and lunchtimes are often the time they find most difficult so you really can make a huge difference. You may still remember how you felt on your first days at school.

If you think you would make a good buddy and can commit to supporting them every day, please email us to let us know why you would make a good buddy and we will begin matching up children. It is really important that you do email if you would be interested in the role so that we can continue contact during school closures. We can take 30 children for this role but if we are oversubscribed then there may be the option of other supporting roles that would suit you.

Send your emails to:

Many thanks!
