Parents/carers can access information and training about online safety.
Dear Parents & Carers,
We want to help you keep your children safe when they are online. Coppice Valley has bought access to National Online Safety (NOS), a platform for parents and teachers to use. Coppice Valley is now a Certified NOS School.
This platform includes an Online Safety Course for Parents and Carers, if you would like to learn more about keeping your child safe online. The staff did the training this week and though we thought we were well informed about internet safety, I have to say we were shocked. I encourage you all to do the online parents' course - it is an eye-opener and well worth doing to keep your child safe.
National Online Safety’s platform also has a Resources section which includes a huge range of parents' guides on the latest social media channels and games. This is updated weekly, so whatever is going on in the online world, you can keep up to date on it. Technology and what is popular changes so quickly that it is hard to keep up, but these guides are a good way to keep on top of it. There are parent guides about Fortnite, TikTok, social media, forums etc.
To get onto the platform follow this link:
You will have to register then an email will be sent to you so you can log in and access the resources and courses. Select the correct account type from the drop-down menu (‘Parent’)- to allocate you the correct courses.
We have attached a basic user guide to help you navigate the new website. If you have any trouble using the platform, or do not receive your account activation link- please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 08003688061.
