Key Workers and Vulnerable Pupils' Childcare Plan

19 March 2020 (by schoollogin)

Update on plans so far

Thank you to those key worker parents who have emailed us today. We will email you tomorrow with our response and a request for more information regarding the days and times you will need childcare.I really want to thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. We are working as fast as we can. Up to now, the government has still not issued schools with a definitive list of key workers, despite lots of lists circulating in the press.

Just like you, the first we knew about the school closures and the plan for school staff  to care for key workers' children and vulnerable children was yesterday evening. Since then, we've been working continually to put an offer together for you. There is no precedent for this so we are literally making this up as we go along! But you can be assured that we are acting with the highest care and due diligence for your children's safety. We need to make sure that we have enough staff on duty, that we can feed the children, deliver first aid and that cleaners are still available to come in, to name just a few items. Lots to think about!

We will be contacting the families of key workers and vulnerable pupils tomorrow with the details, via email. Please make sure you have submitted your request for childcare for the Transition Week, Monday 23rd to Friday 27th March, by 10 am on Friday 20th March to

Please note, you do not need to request childcare yet for the period after 27th March. We will be dealing with this childcare offer next week.

Once again, a big thanks for the support and kindness you are showing the school, staff and each other. I am in another meeting with RKLT tomorrow morning so will keep you updated about any developments. I know it's really important to you to keep the information flowing. It's incredibly stressful for everyone but I've every faith we will get through this together, as a Coppice Valley Family.

Best wishes, Mrs Meadus  X
