King’s Coronation Celebrations
We will be celebrating the King’s Coronation on Friday 5th May and will be holding a ‘Big lunch’ where classes can join together to share and celebrate. Children who have school dinners will all have a pre ordered packed lunch that day so we can picnic outside together if possible, so please let us know if your child would like a lunch that day via parent pay who would normally bring a packed lunch asap. Children will pre order their sandwich choice in school by Friday 28th April.
The children are also going to be busy behind the scenes over the next few weeks planning stalls for a special indoor market held in the afternoon, as a Prince’s Trust inspired enterprise. Individual class teachers will be in touch if they need anything for their stalls.
We will be raising money for the Prince’s Trust as well as fundraising to enable us to buy seven fruit trees for the school to mark the Coronation. Children can spend up to £2 each (suggested amount) at the market and all items will be designed to share with friends and families and priced 0.50p each. Children should bring their money (up to £2) with them to school. Families are welcome into classes from 2pm to share the selected purchases with their children (imagine books, lemonade, cake etc). We will collect their money and give them a card to use at the market.
Families can also access the market 2.00 – 2.30pm themselves (please bring 0.50p's as change will be limited) and there will be a schoolwide performance at 2.40pm of The Kings Song to enjoy.
You are welcome to take your children home early after their performance, from 2.45pm, to enjoy the long weekend and celebrations (normal Friday after school clubs will still run).
Children are welcome to wear red, white and blue for the day to mark the occasion and we have also bought a commemorative leather bookmark for each child as a special gift which they can take home.

Sponsored Bounce 19th May
Please do support our sponsored bounce by helping us to raise the remaining £8,000 needed for playground equipment for the Oak/Beech outdoor area and for the whole school playground.
Sport’s Day
As usual, families can bring seats, blankets etc to enjoy the sports. Children should come to school in their PE kits, with suncream on, water bottles and hats. There will be refreshments to buy for adults, so please remember to bring cash with you. The back up day, if we rained off on the 16th June is Friday 23rd June.
Roosters Fundraiser Event 9th June
Treble Clef, a local singing group, are raising funds for the school playground equipment appeal by very kindly donating profits from ticket sales and a raffle to school. Please do support the event by buying a ticket in advance and coming along on the night (details on poster).
Family Picnic 50th Birthday Celebrations 20th July 2pm
Our annual family picnic event will also be a celebration of our school’s 50th Birthday. As usual, please do come along with your picnic, blankets and chairs etc.
