Our School

We work together to ensure every child achieves the best possible outcomes academically, socially, and emotionally. We care about the development of the whole child and have high expectations for all learners. We recognise that some children may require additional support to meet their individual learning needs.
As well as the provisions outlined in our Whole School Provision Map (below), which include speech and language interventions delivered by school staff, we also work in close partnership with the Harrogate Hospital Speech and Language Therapy Team.
If we feel your child may benefit from specialist input, we will discuss this with you and make a referral to the service for their advice and support.
It’s very common for parents to have questions about speech and language development, so please don’t hesitate to ask. If you have any concerns or would like more information, speak to your child’s class teacher or contact our SENCO:
At Coppice Valley, we are committed to supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of every child and their family. We teach pupils how to look after their own mental health and support others, helping them build resilience and positive coping strategies.
We have a full-time Pupil and Family Support Worker, Miss Sam Wright, who provides dedicated support for children and families. In addition, we work closely with external agencies, such as Compass Phoenix, CAMHS, and local health professionals, to ensure specialist advice and intervention is available when needed.
For more information and resources, please visit our Mental Health and Well-being page or contact the school office or your child's class teacher if you have any concerns about your child’s emotional well-being.
Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) is Mrs Jo Fineran.
