Beech - KS1 Year 1
Welcome to Year 1
Welcome to Beech class, Year 1 at Coppice Valley Primary.
We are heading into Spring 2 with a 'spring' in our step in Year 1. Beech class has a wonderful half term ahead of them learning about motion and movement in Physics, Design Technology and Computing. Our Biology focus will embrace the changing season as we discover plants, understanding their parts and groups, getting out into our nature area as much as possible. Our key text is The Queens Hat by Steve Antony which will take us along the Thames and help revisit the landmarks we looked at in Spring 1.
We also have a Coppice 50 challenge and plan to enter some artwork into the Royal Academy's Summer exhibition competition. Beech class will continue to build our phonics knowledge and our inner mathematicians whilst nurturing our core school values though increased circle time and focus on kindness in our classroom.
