Year 6
What a year! This week has been an emotional one as we have been saying goodbye to our Year 6 pupils and wishing them good luck as they move on to secondary school. It is always sad to say goodbye to a cohort of pupils and many of them have been at our school for 7 years. They have worked so hard and have risen the challenges of Year 6 curriculum. We have made their last week lots of fun, with a water fight, the family picnic and then our Leavers' Assembly this morning. They are absolutely ready for secondary school and we wish them the very best of luck in their future endeavours. We hope to see them back in our school a future events, such as our Christmas and Summer Fairs.
Our final thank you of the year goes to you, our parents and carers community for the support you have given. I have loved getting to know you all this year, Coppice Valley is a wonderful school. We hope you received our Celebrations Newsletter earlier this week, but if you didn't, please find it here:

PTFA
Thank you for all your support this year. Together we have raised an amazing total of...£6632.02.
- Reception class book bags and welcome gift,
- Year 6 residential coach,
- Whole-school ice cream van,
- Year 6 leavers' gifts.
We look forward to continuing to raise money and be able to fund even more in the future.
The PTFA AGM will be held when we return to school, and we welcome new members to the group.
Thank you so much again,
Love from the PTFA.
Forest School Sessions
Next year, as we have shared, we will be rolling out Forest School sessions across the classes. In Autumn 1 (until October half term), these sessions will run in Year 1 (current Oak Class) and Year 6 (current Chesnut Class).
For the sessions, your child will need a long sleeved black top, with long trousers and either walking boots or wellies. The class teacher will share the day for these sessions on Monday 2nd September, so please make sure you have the clothing ready. The days are likely to be Year 6 on Monday and Year 1 on Friday. The clothing will get dirty and so please don't worry about buying new items. If you may have difficulty providing this, please let us know.
If you want to see what it is all about, here is a recent video of some sessions: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/mih3xLWdxfs7kXyd/
Coppice Valley Community Projects
As you know, we set out to deliver on 4 projects this year - we have shared these details previously and they can be found on our website, here.
We have delivered on 3 out of 4 of our projects and we are so close to having enough funding for our Forest School Canopy. We now have £4000 of the funding we need, raised from grants, which is nearly half. We are determined to deliver this project and so please watch this space . and put us in touch with any contacts you might have who could help us!
