Nursery Consultation

We have opened a consultation regarding the development of a new nursery provision at Coppice Valley Primary School, set to open in September 2026. This consultation is part of the planning process that the Local Authority requires schools to undertake when proposing a change to provision.

The consultation relates to our proposal to introduce nursery provision for 26 three-year-old children. This expansion reflects a growing demand for early years education in our community, including an increased need for accessible childcare as the local area develops. By providing a nursery, we aim to create a smooth transition for young children into primary education, supporting their early development and providing families with a high-quality, local option for pre-school care.

Our proposed nursery will be based in a thoughtfully renovated space, with new resources designed specifically for early years learning. We hope the project will be funded by a grant and will include the renovation of our existing bungalow and an extension to ensure ample room for a range of stimulating activities. The nursery will have access to a dedicated outdoor space, as well as our own school grounds, enabling us to provide a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment that supports children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Without this provision, we anticipate that some families in our area may face limited access to nursery education. We therefore encourage all consultees to respond to this consultation, as it will allow Coppice Valley Primary School to serve our community’s needs more comprehensively and ensure more children experience an engaging, high-quality start to their education journey.
