Friday Update 20.9.24
Posted 19th September 2024
Message from Miss McNamara
What a week! The Year 6 residential has been the main event and we hope you have been following them on social media. They have been swimming in the lake, canoed, taken part in a cookout on the beach, climbed Hallin Fell, filtered water, played Pooh Sticks, paddled, built dens and jumped from a cliff! I have been receiving daily reports from the teachers of just how impressed they are with all of the children; there are so many individual success stories and I feel incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. I suspect there will be a few Saturday morning lie-ins this weekend. A huge thank you to Miss Ramsay, Miss Hudson and Mrs Scarisbrick who have all made the trip possible.
Back at school, we have enjoyed an equally busy week of learning with a few strange happenings. Our Year 2 class found a crashed UFO in the playground and some mysterious yellow footprints, meanwhile our Year 3 class investigated a case of a missing birthday cake.
Next week, we want to welcome you all to our first Family Breakfast of the year on Tuesday 24th September at 8:15am.

Mrs Hawkins
The news is travelling quickly around school...
We are thrilled to share the wonderful news that Mrs. Hawkins, our Year 4 class teacher, is expecting a baby! Mrs. Hawkins will be going on maternity leave from January 2025, and we are currently in the process of recruiting a teacher to cover her role during her time away.
In the meantime, Mrs. Hawkins will continue to provide her outstanding teaching and care for our Year 4 pupils, ensuring a smooth transition as we approach her leave. We will keep you updated on the arrangements as they develop.
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Hawkins and wishing her all the best during this exciting time!
