Miss McNamara's Message

What another fantastic week it has been at Coppice Valley.

We were delighted to welcome author Bethan Woollvin into school on Monday, when she inspired our pupils with her stories and creative writing tips. She was highly impressed by the children's learning and attitudes, as well as commenting on everyone's enthusiasm. Today, Year 5 have had a particularly exciting day as they immersed themselves in a STEM glider workshop.

In staff development, this week’s meeting focused on reading, ensuring we continue to embed high standards and maintain consistency across year groups. We focused on reading skills and providing children with rich reading content. Thank you to the staff for their dedication to this important work.

Finally, a big thank you to the PTFA for meeting this week. Your ongoing support and collaboration mean so much to us and our school community. A huge thank you for the money which the PTFA will be donating towards a mud kitchen on our playground. This will benefit all children during their breaktimes, enabling opportunities for creative play.

Online Safety Information Session

Please find below the link to access the parent/carer session scheduled for Wednesday 29th January 2025 – 9.30am – 10.15am.

Online Safety Information Session

Attendees do not need to register, they simply click on the link at the above time to access the session. Cameras and voice/audio will be switched off for all attendees. Attendees can ask questions by typing in the Q&A box, but this will be explained during the session.

The event will be streamed using Teams. Attendees can watch the live event in:

Teams app—desktop (Windows or Mac) or mobile. (The Teams app is free to download if attendees would like to do that beforehand).
If they don't have Teams they can access it via one of the following browsers - Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox.

As a reminder, this session (and all our virtual sessions) will be recorded and will be subsequently shared so if somebody can’t make the live session then they can watch it back at a time that is convenient to them.

We had an amazing time with Bethan Woollvin this week! It was wonderful to see so many books being brought in for her to sign. Her visit has truly inspired us, and we’re now channelling that inspiration into our own writing, making sure to remember all the fantastic tips and techniques she shared.
