Friday Update 27.09.24

Posted 26th September 2024

Message from Miss McNamara

It has been a very wet week here at Coppice, but that hasn't stopped us from having a brilliant time. The highlights this week have been our Family Breakfast and our SEND/Wellbeing drop-in. We love families coming in to school and so thank you for braving the rain and attending these events!

Although we have been unable to get outside as much as usual this week, our Forest School sessions have continued, please go to our social media to see pictures of these. We also have an exciting outdoor development to tell you about. Over October half-term, we will have the installation of a new piece of adventure playground equipment, which will benefit gross motor development. It will include a clatter bridge, monkey bars, swinging steps and balance beam. This is part of our school development plan to enhance the productivity of playtimes. We know the children are going to love this too!

We would also like to give a shout-out to our wonderful teaching assistants and support staff! It is National Teaching Assistants' Day today and we know that our school couldn't run without them. Their dedication and hard work often go above and beyond, providing vital support to both teachers and children. They are the people who offer one-to-one guidance during lessons, support small groups and ensure breaktimes run smoothly. Our support staff help create the inclusive, nurturing environment that we have at Coppice and we are so fortunate to have them.

Please note the additional date in Autumn 2, which is the whole-school trip to Harrogate Theatre, to see Beauty and the Beast. Like last year, this is a discounted trip and we ask for a £10 donation toward this. We will walk there on the day; more details to follow.

Walk to School Day

We will be walking, biking, scooting to school on Friday 4th October.

Park your car a little further away and walk the remaining journey. Every mile counts!

PTFA - Parent Teachers Friends Association

For those of you who would like to find out a little more about the PTFA please do join the AGM on Wednesday 9th October at 6pm in the hall. Reminder that anyone interested in official roles (Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Social media and Secretary) need to apply with a few lines by Wednesday 2nd Oct to office@cvps.rklt.co.uk

We are a lovely welcoming bunch, we meet about every six weeks to share ideas and plan up and coming events to support our gorgeous school; We help fundraise for school trips, leavers gifts, treats and more. Every penny supports our children directly making their school experience the best it can be.
We are always looking for new people, they can be parents, grandparents or wider school community members. We share out jobs from big and small, all on a voluntary basis maximising people's skills, knowledge and expertise. If you ever fancied manning a stall, being creative, counting tickets or jumps and can give up a few hours over the year then please come and meet us. You don't have to attend every meeting but more the merrier and we can't do it without YOU 🙂 .
We understand people are busy and may not be able to attend meetings but if you want to join the FB group we always share what we need to support events here as well https://www.facebook.com/share/g/iVbZ4wRYPiTEY5NS/
