It has been a very busy first week back at Coppice—we can’t quite believe it’s only week one! We kicked things off with a lively staff meeting focused on all things curriculum, and I have also attended two brilliant professional development sessions with RKLT and RKLT Connect. We are really lucky to have such enthusiastic and motivated staff who are committed to high-quality CPD - we know the positive impact this has on our pupils.
Next week is shaping up to be just as exciting! We are thrilled to finally bring our long-planned tree planting project to life. After nearly a year of planning and securing grants, every child in school will have the opportunity to plant a tree on Wednesday, 5th March. Please ensure they bring a coat and a change of trainers or wellies. The project will take eight days, with a variety of trees being planted to create a nature trail around the edge of our school field. This initiative is part of our wider school improvement plan to enhance our outdoor environment and playtimes.
In addition, we have World Book Day celebrations to look forward to, with plenty of activities to inspire a love of reading. We’ll also be hosting Stories After School, a special event where children and families can enjoy shared storytelling in a cosy setting.
Another key event next week is our Pupil Voice Conference, where we will be speaking to pupils about all things Coppice Valley—listening to their ideas, thoughts, and perspectives on their school experience.
It’s going to be a fantastic week!

Our amazing Year 5 students teamed up with Artizan last term to create this stunning mosaic for our school. We couldn't think of a better spot to showcase it than right at the front entrance. We're incredibly proud of our students for dedicating their time and effort to craft something so beautiful that will be cherished for years to come!

We have some furry visitors on our school grounds! ? While they're very cute, please help us to remind our children to:
We're working on keeping the cats away during school hours, however help outside of school hours when on our school site would be fantastic.
