Message from Miss McNamara

This week we have enjoyed all things Christmas. Our 'crafternoons' have continued and it has been lovely to see so many parents in the hall getting involved in (and some taking over!) the decoration making. Christmas dinner on Wednesday was a huge hit (as was my novelty turkey hat). A huge thank you to our Hutchisons' kitchen staff for making a lovely meal as well as our Coppice teachers for bringing the festive cheer and eating with the children. Our choir spread the joy beyond the school gate when they went to sing at the Christmas markets on Thursday. Meanwhile, Oak and Beech class delivered the Wriggly Nativity in not one, but two fantastic performances. It has been a joy to see the children in both classes grow in confidence over the last  few weeks. Check out our social media for pictures of the events this week.

Next Thursday, we will be having a special assembly to end the year and say goodbye to Mr Cawte. A reminder that we finish at 2pm on this day and there is no after-school BAS.

St John's Arrangements

We are really looking forward to our final festive event on Monday 18th December at St John's Church, our Christmas Carol Concert (arrival from 2pm). We aim to be back at school for 3:30pm. If you are attending the concert, you can collect your child from the church. If your child normally walks home from school and you are happy for them to walk from St John's, please let your child's class teacher know.  All children not collected from St John's will return to school with staff to either be collected or walk home from school, at 3:30pm.

Red Kite Youth Board

Red Kite Learning Trust is keen to learn from our young people, to give them a voice and an opportunity to help shape the future of our Trust and schools. Last year our Trust set up a Red Kite Youth Board, with pupil representatives from each of our 14 schools. The Red Kite Youth Board met up for the fifth time this term and you can read all about what was discussed and achieved in this meeting here. Our next Red Kite Youth Board meeting will be on Monday 15th January and our Youth Board reps would love to hear about any ideas and initiatives pupils in our schools would like to share.

Mrs DanfordMrs Danford

Mrs Danford, one of our teaching assistants who works in Year 5, will be leaving us at Christmas. Mrs Danford joined us in September but has been offered a pastoral role at Harrogate High School. We wish her the very best of luck in her new role and thank her for her hard work this term.
