Happy half term, everyone! And a very Happy Valentine’s Day too! 💕 Today, we celebrated with music and sweets at the end of the day for children and a chocolate fountain in the staffroom – there were plenty of chocolatey chins!

This week has been filled with reflection, and connection as we celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week. This year’s theme was all about “Know Yourself, Grow Yourself” - encouraging children to understand their emotions, recognise their strengths, and discover ways to grow while building positive relationships.

What another fantastic week it has been at Coppice Valley. We were delighted to welcome author Bethan Woollvin into school on Monday, when she inspired our pupils with her stories and creative writing tips. She was highly impressed by the children's learning and attitudes, as well as commenting on everyone's enthusiasm. Today, Year 5 have had a particularly exciting day as they immersed themselves in a STEM glider workshop.

This week has been filled with exciting events and opportunities for our school community. Last night, our staff participated in a twilight training session with White Rose Maths, focusing on the use of the concrete, pictorial, and abstract approach to teaching.
