Miss McNamara's Message
Posted 24th November 2023
Thank you to all our parents and carers who attended parents' evening this week.
We hope that the conversations you had with your child's class teacher were valuable and you enjoyed seeing inside their classroom. I saw lots of smiling children leaving the school building, after hearing their teacher's positive comments.
Thank you to those who have completed our two school surveys, which were also sent out via text message on Thursday 23rd November, around 8pm. Your feedback is really important to us and is necessary for us to keep improving. We have had about 50% of families complete the surveys and would really appreciate it if you could spare a few minutes, if you haven't already.
Mr Cawte
As you know, Mr Cawte is leaving us at Christmas. He has recently accepted the job of Year 5/6 teacher at Richard Taylor Primary School.
Mr Cawte is very much looking forward to being back in the classroom (as well as brushing up on his year six subject knowledge!).
We wish him the very best at his new school; Richard Taylor are very lucky!
Community Goals
As part of the development of our school, we have two community goals:
- Sustainability: To educate our children about sustainability, advocating waste reduction and environmental care.
- Community Care: Support our community to access resources and empower families with long term solutions.
To achieve these we have some projects that we are currently working on, which will also support our curriculum in school. You can read about these here, and if you have any contacts who may be able to support us, please share our contact details.
Harrogate Library
Please see below details of an event for families taking place at Harrogate Library on Tuesday 28th November, 4pm – 5.30pm, hosted by Harrogate Children’s Book Group.
Christmas Jumper Days
To get the most out of your child's Christmas jumper - we have a few dates on which they can wear them to school (to reduce the cost-per-wear!).
- Thursday 7th December:The official 'Christmas Jumper Day' (with school trousers/skirt).
- Wednesday 13th December: Christmas dinner day (with school trousers/skirt).
- Thursday 14th December:Year 1 only (with school trousers/skirt).
- Monday 18th December:St Johns (with school trousers/skirt) .
- Your child's 'Christmas Crafternoon' (with school trousers/skirt).
In January, we will be collecting donations of Christmas jumpers, so that we can offer a Christmas jumper swap shop in November 2024, as part of our community goals to reduce landfill and support families.
