Message from Miss McNamara

It has been a long but brilliant half term at Coppice. This week has been particularly lovely with Beech class's assembly on Wednesday, Life Skills Day on Thursday and Halloween fancy dress today.

Beech class stood up in front of their parents and the school and sang songs which they have been learning to help them remember the days of the week, the months of the year the and the continents. Life Skills Day was a great success- you may have seen some pictures on our social media. The children had 30-minute workshops where they moved around our 'Coppice Town', learning how to order in a cafe, tie shoelaces, sew a button, wrap gifts and much more. In assembly today, all the children had chance to parade around the hall in their costumes to spooky music! A big thank you to all the teachers for their organisation and enthusiasm, even in week 8!

Next half term, we are looking forward to all things Christmas! We will be using the calendar on our website (as well as this weekly letter) to keep you updated with events and the details, so please keep checking here:

Finally, I would like to thank you all for your support this half term in helping your child settle into the new school year and the time you have invested in supporting our school.

We hope you have a really enjoyable half term, and we will see you on Monday 6th November.

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed a new Deputy Headteacher, Jo Fineran, who will be joining us after the Christmas break, in January 2024. Mrs Fineran is currently the SENDCo at Sutton on the Forest. She comes with experience of being an Assistant Headteacher and leading her school on SEND and maths.

Mrs Fineran will be visiting school through the next half term, so children, parents and staff will have chance to meet her.
