Miss McNamara's Message

It has been another positive and busy week in school, with lots to celebrate.

I am pleased to share that we have successfully recruited a new Key Stage 2 teacher to join our team. We were overwhelmed to receive over 50 applications for this role, and I am incredibly proud that our school continues to attract such a high calibre of candidates. We are pleased to be welcoming Mr Bang, who will be joining us from Meadowfield, another school within our trust. He impressed us greatly throughout the process, and I know he will be a fantastic addition to our team.

This week, the sunshine has made an appearance and it has been wonderful to see so much learning taking place outdoors. In fact, it has been quite a challenge to track staff down at times, with so many empty classrooms and lessons happening outside!

Next week, we will also be conducting interviews for a two-day EYFS teacher role. This position has been created due to our new nursery provision being run by Miss Baxter from September. Miss Baxter has real expertise in this area and I am currently really enjoying all of our conversations, planning (and spending!) for this exciting next step for our school.

As we head into the Bank Holiday weekend, I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable break with your families. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed for the week ahead on Tuesday 5th May.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Bank Holiday Reminder

Please note that school will be closed on Monday due to the bank holiday, and will reopen as normal on Tuesday. Have a lovely long weekend!

Recipe Bags available next week!

Recipe Bags featuring a delicious Spring Pasta dish will be available to collect from the Coppice Hub after school next Friday, 8th May 🙂

Help Us Grow Our Pre‑Loved School Uniform Hub

Do you have any spare or pre‑loved school uniform at home? We are kindly asking for donations of clean, good‑quality uniform items for children of all ages, to help stock our Uniform Hub.

Having spare uniform available in school is incredibly helpful for families and supports our wider community. By sharing pre‑loved items, we reduce waste, support one another, and live out our Eco‑School values through reuse and sustainability.

If you are able to help, donations can be:

  • Dropped directly into the Uniform Hub, or
  • Brought into school, and we will make sure they are sorted and passed on.

Please note that we are only able to accept school uniform items, including school uniform coats and shoes. Any non‑school uniform clothing can be donated to the clothes bank by the school gate.

Every item makes a difference. Thank you very much for your continued support in helping our school care for both the environment and our community 🌱💚

🌿 Little Ferns Nursery – An Exciting Update

We’re delighted to share another positive update on Little Ferns Nursery, which is really beginning to take shape.

Furniture and key resources are now arriving, and the space is already starting to reflect the warm, nurturing and inspiring environment we envisaged. Once everything is in place, the nursery is set to look fantastic and will provide a calm, engaging setting where our youngest children can learn, play and thrive.

We’re also pleased to confirm that nursery tour dates will be shared very shortly, giving families the opportunity to visit the space, meet staff and find out more about what Little Ferns will offer.

🌱 We’re Recruiting: Nursery Practitioner – Little Ferns

As we prepare for opening, we are looking to appoint a Nursery Practitioner to join the Little Ferns team in September.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a caring, enthusiastic and skilled early years professional to be part of a brand‑new nursery provision and help shape its daily practice from the very beginning.

The role will involve:

  • Creating a safe, supportive and engaging environment for young children
  • Supporting children’s learning and development through play
  • Working closely with colleagues, families and the wider school community
  • Upholding high standards of care, wellbeing and professionalism

Further details about the role, including how to apply, please click this link.

If you, or someone you know, are passionate about early years education and excited by the opportunity to help establish Little Ferns Nursery, we’d love to hear from you.

Lost Property Update

All items of lost property that were clearly named have now been returned to their owners. Any remaining items that were unnamed have been moved to the Community Hub, where they will be available for families to look through. Please do feel free to check the Community Hub if you are missing anything.

🌳 Tree Friend

Choose one tree near your home, school or favourite walking route and make it your special tree. Visit it each season and notice what changes: new buds in spring, shade and wildlife in summer, colours and falling leaves in autumn, and bare branches or buds forming in winter. Now is a great time to start this seasonal tradition!
