It has been another great week at Coppice Valley, with lots to celebrate!
This week saw the launch of our new Young Leader groups, giving children across school even more opportunities to have a voice, take responsibility and make a positive difference to school life. We’d also love to involve our wider school community, so if you are a parent, carer or family member who has a skill, interest or a little time to offer one of our groups, we’d love to hear from you!
We also launched Coppice Gold with our Year 5 and 6 pupils this week – another exciting opportunity for our older children to challenge themselves, take greater responsibility and be recognised for the contribution they make to life at Coppice Valley.
Today, while the children have enjoyed an extra day off, our staff have been busy learning! We officially launched StepLab, which forms part of our Trust-wide focus on continually developing the quality of teaching and learning.
A big part of StepLab is rehearsal. Just as musicians, athletes and performers practise before the real thing, our teachers will spend time rehearsing important elements of curriculum delivery and our whole-school routines together. It gives us the opportunity to practise, receive precise feedback and refine what we do before we deliver it to children.
Ultimately, it is about making sure our pupils benefit from the best version of our teaching, rather than our first attempt – because our staff are learners for life too!

We're excited to have launched our new Young Leaders groups at Coppice Valley Primary School, giving children the opportunity to develop leadership skills, make a positive difference and help shape our school community.
To help these groups thrive, we're looking for Parent Ambassadors who would be willing to support activities, share ideas and occasionally attend meetings with our Young Leaders.
Whether you have a particular interest, relevant experience, or simply want to support our children in developing their leadership skills, we'd love to hear from you!
📧 Please email office@cvps.rklt.co.uk and tell us which Young Leaders group(s) you would be interested in supporting and a little about why the group interests you, please feel to include any relevant skills, experience or ideas you could bring!
Thank you for helping us inspire and empower the next generation of leaders! ✨
Our groups include:
