Miss McNamara's Message
It’s been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school this week after the summer break. Although the children have only been back for three days, it already feels like we’re off to a flying start!
Before term began, staff spent two invaluable training days focusing on our strategic priorities for the year ahead. This included:

A learning-first approach – ensuring that every decision we make puts the quality of teaching and learning at the heart of our work.

Zones of Regulation training – so we can better support children to recognise and manage their emotions.

A visit from Imagined Things bookshop – staff had the chance to choose exciting new texts for their classrooms, recommended by experts to inspire a love of reading across the school.
We hope you’ve already started to see the impact of our new start to the school day. Using the Zones of Regulation and our ‘Ready to Learn’ mantra, we aim to help children begin the day calmly and positively, ready to engage fully in their learning.
Today we were thrilled to welcome the first group of our new Reception pupils. It was lovely to see their smiling faces as they began their school journey. We look forward to having the whole class in by Tuesday and watching them settle into life at Coppice Valley.
