Miss McNamara's Message

What a lovely start to the half term! We had a really valuable INSET day on Monday, welcoming a guest speaker for de-escalation training and continuing our work on school routines, maths teaching and our school development plan. These days provide vital time for staff to learn together, reflect on our practice and strengthen the support we offer every child. We were also delighted to welcome Miss Waite to our Early Years team, following her successful appointment to our teaching assistant role, which attracted a great deal of interest.

There has been plenty to celebrate across school this week. Little Ferns enjoyed a fire at Forest School, and some fantastic meetings have taken place between our Coppice Gold children and their mentors as they develop their projects. From learning the ukulele to running after-school clubs and selling fudge, it has been lovely to see children exploring their interests and taking on new challenges. Look out for the fudge sale in our Community Hub on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday next week - 50p!

We have also enjoyed celebrating some amazing books and exciting launches for the children's new writing units. There is so much happening to spark curiosity and a love of learning across Coppice Valley.

Thank you, as always, for your support. Have a lovely weekend!

A Friendly Reminder About Communication

We always want to make sure important messages reach the right people as quickly as possible. If you need to let us know about an appointment, absence, change to collection arrangements, cancelled club attendance, or any other important information, please contact the school office directly.

Our teaching staff love greeting children and families at the classroom door each morning, but this is one of the busiest parts of the day and they are not always able to pass messages on immediately. Contacting the office directly helps us ensure your message is received and acted upon promptly.

You can reach the office by emailing office@cvps.rklt.co.uk or calling 01423 563 760.

Thank you for your support and understanding. It really helps us keep everyone safe, informed and in the right place at the right time! 😊

Trips and Voluntary Contributions

We are incredibly proud to offer a wide range of enriching experiences and educational visits for our children throughout the year. These opportunities help bring learning to life and create memories that last long after the school day has ended.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all families who have been able to make voluntary contributions towards trips this year. Your support is invaluable and helps us continue to provide these exciting opportunities for our pupils.

We currently have the following trips open for payment on Arbor:

  • Year 4 Murton Park
  • Year 5 Maths City
  • Years 1-6 Pantomime Visit
  • Current Year 5 Residential (September)

We also have donation options available in the School Shop on Arbor to help fund our RE visitors and workshops, which enrich the children's understanding of different faiths and cultures.

Thank you for your continued support. As a school, we can only offer many of these fantastic experiences through the generosity of our families' voluntary contributions. Every contribution, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated.

🧸💛 Look North's Push for Pudsey is coming to Harrogate! 💛🧸

On Monday 9th November, BBC Look North presenter Amy Garcia and Lindsey Burrow will be taking on an incredible challenge for BBC Children in Need! The pair will be walking five routes of over 15 miles across Yorkshire throughout the week, all while pulling the famous red Look North sofa! 🛋️🚶‍♀️

Their first day takes them from Ripon to Knaresborough, via Harrogate, and they'd love some local support along the way!

📍 When can you cheer them on?

They are expected to arrive in Harrogate at around 5pm, travelling along Woodfield Road, Skipton Road and Dragon Road before heading towards Bettys.

They'll be live on BBC Look North before setting off again just before 7pm, travelling via West Park, York Place and Knaresborough Road towards Starbeck.

💛 We'd love to see some of our Coppice Valley families out cheering them on! Why not pop along, give them a wave and help show what a supportive community Harrogate is?

📍 Follow their progress with the live tracker: https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/pushforpudsey/
