Miss McNamara's Message

What a fantastic week it’s been at Coppice Valley! Although outdoor learning is something we champion every day through our Forest School and outdoor curriculum, this week we joined in the national celebration of Outdoor Learning Day. Our pupils enjoyed some brilliant lessons in the fresh air.

We were also proud to host teacher training interviews in partnership with Red Kite this week. Supporting the next generation of teachers is something we value highly, and it’s a privilege to play a part in he development of future educators.

A huge thank you goes to Community Fit, who generously gave their time this week to help with site maintenance, including painting fences and tidying up outdoor areas. Keeping our site safe, clean and welcoming takes a lot of behind-the-scenes work, and we’re incredibly grateful for the community spirit and teamwork shown. Our children benefit enormously from these improvements.

Finally, a reminder about attendance: the Department for Education expects all pupils to have at least 95% attendance. We’re working hard to improve our attendance figures and need everyone’s support to achieve this. We have noticed an increase in term-time holidays recently, and we’ll be introducing some updated protocols and processes around this - more details will be shared with you soon about what you can expect. Every day in school really does count, and we’re here to support families in making sure pupils are in school, on time, and ready to learn.

Have a restful weekend and thank you, as always, for your continued support.

School Meal Taster & Showcase - 3pm onwards on Thursday 22 May

Get ready for a mouth-watering experience! We are thrilled to invite you to our Hutchison Catering Showcase on Thursday, 22 May, at 3pm. This is your chance to sample some scrumptious food and meet the fantastic team behind our school meals.

It's going to be a fun and informative event that we hope will inspire you and your child to consider our school lunches as a tasty and convenient option. 🥙🥘🌯🍲🍴

If you cannot make the showcase, please don't worry, samples will be available after school!

Eco Tip

Visit and Support Local Refilling Stations: Harrogate has some fantastic refilling stations where you can bring your own containers to refill with household products like cleaning supplies, toiletries, and even some food items. This reduces plastic waste and supports local businesses.
