Another lovely week at Coppice Valley, with plenty of exciting learning taking place across school!
One class have had a rather mysterious visitor this week, with something appearing to have crash-landed in our school grounds! The children quickly turned detectives, asking questions, making predictions and sharing their theories about what might have happened. What a brilliant way to spark curiosity and inspire writing! Meanwhile, other classes have been making the most of the autumn sunshine, taking their learning outdoors to explore number lines, chronology, read stories and develop art skills.
Our school tours are continuing, and it has been lovely to welcome prospective families to Coppice Valley. Visitors are always wowed by our beautiful school site, but what really stands out is how we use our grounds to enhance children's experiences. Whether extending classroom learning outdoors, exploring our natural environment or taking part in our Forest School programme, our grounds are very much an extension of our classrooms. We are incredibly fortunate to have these spaces, and even more fortunate to have a team who make such creative and purposeful use of them. If you know any families considering a Reception place for September 2027, please do encourage them to come and see what makes Coppice so special!
We are also looking forward to welcoming parents and carers to our Parent Craft Workshop on Wednesday 21 October at 1:45pm, led by Hannah Rae Arts. This will be a lovely opportunity to get creative, learn how to make friendship bracelets and spend time with other members of our school community. Places can be booked through EnrolMy, and we would love to see you there.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Have a wonderful weekend!
We are launching SchoolGrid on Monday. At least one parent/carer for every child should already have received their login details. If another parent/carer needs access, please contact the school office and we can add them to the account.
Before Monday, please:
✅ Log in to SchoolGrid
✅ Check that your child's dietary and allergen information is up to date
Important to know:
• Meals pre-booked in advance cannot be changed by school staff at morning registration.
• Only meals not selected in advance can be chosen in class that morning.
• If dietary or allergen information is not added, an unsuitable meal may be selected.
If you need any support accessing your account, please get in touch - we will do our best to sort on Monday morning.
Thank you for your support as we introduce our new meal ordering system. 😊
A reminder that School Photo Day will take place on Tuesday next week.
📱 Please also check that your photo permissions are up to date on Arbor, particularly if your child is new to the school. To do this:
• Log in to the Arbor Parent Portal or Arbor App
• Select your child
• Go to Profile
• Select Consents
• Review and update your photo permissions as required
😁 Most importantly, don't forget those big smiles! We can't wait to see the results. 📸✨
Children from Little Ferns through to Year 6 are invited to come to school dressed in their favourite Halloween costume for the day on Friday 23 October 2026. Staff will be joining in the fun too!
We are asking for a £1 donation per child, with all money raised going towards school activities. Details on how to make your donation have been shared via a QR code at classroom doors or payment can be made into the PTFA Bank Account. Please put your child's name and class as the payment reference.
We can't wait to see everyone's spook-tacular outfits! 🧙♀️🦇🎃🕸️
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to our PTFA AGM on Monday 19 October at 6.00pm in the school hall. Stefanos Pizzeria (on Kings Road) has kindly agreed to provide pizza for everyone attending.
Please complete the form to let us know if you hope to attend, so we can plan numbers and accommodate any dietary requirements. 🍕😊

🍏 Our first healthy tuck shop of the year raised an amazing £93! Thank you everyone who bought something!
We are looking to appoint a new PTFA Secretary at this year's AGM following the resignation of our current secretary.
The Secretary is a key member of the PTFA, helping to keep communication flowing between the PTFA, school and families. Responsibilities include preparing agendas, taking and distributing meeting minutes, managing correspondence, supporting PTFA events and assisting with newsletters and publicity.
If you are organised, enjoy working as part of a team and would like to support our school community, we would love to hear from you.
Please send applications to the PTFA email address (PTFA@cvps.rklt.co.uk) by Monday 12 October. 💙💚🤎🧡
