Miss McNamara's Message
This week, we’re taking a moment to celebrate some outstanding outcomes across school. Our KS2 results are in, and they are a fantastic reflection of the hard work that has taken place not just in Year 6, but right through from Reception upwards. These results show that our pupils are ready to take on the challenges of KS3 with confidence.
🎉 KS2 Results Highlights:
-
Reading – 82.1% at the expected standard, with a phenomenal 50% achieving greater depth
-
Writing (teacher assessed) – 71.4% at the expected standard
-
Maths – An outstanding 89% at the expected standard, with 32% achieving greater depth
Behind these figures are some incredible, individual success stories. This data sits us in line and significantly above national data. The full figures will be able to be seen on our website next week.
A huge well done to the whole team, as every adult in school plays a role in getting children to this point – every year builds on the last. And of course, a massive well done to our brilliant children, who can feel so proud of their success.
🌟 Even more to celebrate:
-
Phonics Screening Check (Year 1) – 93.3% of children passed the check, which is a superb result and a clear indicator of the impact of our Little Wandle phonics programme and the dedication of our early years and KS1 staff.
-
Multiplication Tables Check (Year 4) – 63.3% of children achieved full marks, showing great fluency and recall – well done Year 4!
📬 End of Year Reports
All pupils will receive their individual results as part of their end-of-year reports, which will be sent home on Monday 14th July.
Coppice Activity Clubs
Just a reminder: Summer 2 clubs will finish today on Friday, 11th July. If you need childcare for the final week of term, don’t forget to book BAS.
Poster Competition - Funky Foods
Our Phunky Foods Ambassadors are excited to announce a poster competition!
They would like you all to get creative... And design a poster to help spread the message around HEALTHY DRINKS and the importance of being HYDRATED!
Think about:
- Why it is important to choose healthy drinks, and what does staying hydrated mean for our bodies?
- How much fluid do we need?
The entries will be judged by the Phunky Foods Ambassadors, and the 2 winning entries (one KS1, one KS2) will receive a prize! Please hand your entries to Mrs Wright Closing date for entries is Monday 14 July!
Good luck!

🌿 Eco Tip of the Week: Saving Water During a Hosepipe Ban
With a hosepipe ban in place, it’s the perfect time to rethink how we use water outdoors. Try these simple swaps:
🌦️ Collect rainwater in a water butt or bucket to reuse on dry days and during hosepipe bans.
🌱 Mulch your garden with bark, compost, or straw to help retain moisture in the soil.
🚿 Reuse grey water (like cooled water from cooking or rinsing vegetables) for your garden - just avoid anything with harsh chemicals.
Every drop counts! Let’s work together to protect our precious water resources!
