Welcome back!!
What a special week it has been at Coppice Valley!
We began on Monday with a valuable staff INSET day focused on consistent routines across school, safeguarding and first-aid training. This helped to ensure that everyone was well prepared to provide a safe, calm and positive environment in which our children can thrive.
On Tuesday, we hosted the official opening of Little Ferns for all our new pre-school families. We were delighted to welcome the Mayor, who officially opened our new nursery - and, of course, there were bubbles, just as there should be at any pre-school celebration!
It has also been wonderful to welcome our new Reception children, who have made such a positive start to school. A huge thank you to all our staff for the care and warmth they have shown in helping every child settle in so well.
Across school, the children have been thoroughly enjoying Basecamp, our fantastic new outdoor space. It has been lovely to see it already becoming such an important part of school life. We have also been successfully awarded a grant for a few wellies and overalls across school, which is great news.
There has been a real sense of excitement throughout school this week, and we are very much looking forward to everything the year ahead will bring. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and have a great weekend.
As we settle into the new school year, we'd like to kindly ask parents and carers to let us know each day if their child is unwell and unable to attend school, or if they have a medical or other appointment during the school day.

As we begin the new school year, please take a few moments to review your child’s medical, allergy and dietary information on Arbor and make sure that it is complete and up to date.
Having accurate information helps us to keep children safe and ensure that the right support is in place throughout the school day.
If your child has a diagnosed or suspected food allergy, or an allergy that is currently being investigated, please update Arbor and contact the school office directly.
Where a child requires an adapted school menu for medical reasons, Hutchison Catering may need supporting information from a doctor or other healthcare professional. Once this has been received, we will work with you and the catering team to agree suitable arrangements. We will also ensure that any necessary allergy or healthcare plan is reviewed and that the correct emergency medication is available in school.
Please also record any medically identified food intolerances and other dietary requirements, including religious, ethical or lifestyle choices. We will work with families and Hutchison Catering to accommodate these wherever the available menu allows.
If your child’s allergy, medication or dietary needs have changed - or if you are unsure whether the information we hold is correct - please contact the school office so that we can review this with you.

From football and Forest School adventures to creative arts, signing, singing and space exploration, our Autumn 1 clubs offer children the chance to discover new interests, build confidence and have fun with friends.
We can't wait to see our pupils enjoying another exciting term of extracurricular opportunities!
As children outgrow coats, wellies and jumpers, consider donating them to our Community Hub. Pre-loved clothing can be given a second life, helping local families while reducing waste and protecting the environment. Every item reused is one less item sent to landfill. 💚♻️
