Miss McNamara's Message
It has been another busy and successful week at Coppice Valley, with pupils representing our school brilliantly on two visits.
Our Year 3 and Year 6 pupils enjoyed their school trips this week (to York Art Gallery and Leeds City Museum) and they were a real credit to our school. Their behaviour, manners and attitudes throughout the visits were exceptional, and staff received many positive comments from members of the public. Year 6 particularly enjoyed travelling by train, which was an exciting part of the experience for many children and also helped to keep transport costs to a minimum. Well done to all of the pupils involved for representing Coppice Valley so positively.
This week we also completed recruitment for our new nursery provision. We are delighted to announce that supporting Miss Baxter in the nursery will be Ms Donbavand, a qualified teacher who is currently undertaking a Master's degree in Early Years Education. We are really proud to be able to share that our provision will be run by two fully qualified teachers. We are also pleased to welcome Mrs Cook, who will join our EYFS team as a Teaching Assistant for three days per week, backfilling Miss Baxter's move to the nursery.
We are incredibly excited about both of these appointments and the expertise they will bring to our growing team. As we continue to expand our provision, it is wonderful to be able to attract such high-quality staff to Coppice Valley.
Nursery tours have now begun and the provision is already proving very popular. If you know anyone who may be interested in securing a place for their child, please encourage them to visit our website for further information and registration details.
Finally, I hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend. The weather forecast seems to be changing by the hour, but let's hope for some sunshine! We are very much looking forward to welcoming families to Sports Day next week and sharing another special event with our school community.

📢 Reminder for Parents and Carers
Please remember to ring the school office if your child will be absent due to illness or an appointment. You can speak to Mrs Kew or Mrs Tunney, or leave a voicemail.
If you know about appointments in advance, please let us know ahead of time so we can pre-mark the register and avoid disturbing you on the day.
Thank you for your support.
Polite Reminder - Outstanding Balances
As we approach the end of the academic year, we kindly ask all families to check their accounts to ensure any outstanding balances are cleared. Please take a moment to log in and review:
- Arbor – for school meals and trips
- Enrolmy – for clubs and wraparound care
Clearing balances before the end of term helps us ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year and allows us to finalise our accounts. If you have any queries or need support accessing your accounts, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, we’re happy to help.

- 🧸 Let children enjoy the thrill of finding pre-loved toys, books, and clothes.
- 💡 Before buying new, ask: “Can we find it new to us?”

Children's Mental Health and Wellbeing Survey
Thank you to everyone who completed our Children’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Survey. It was lovely to receive so much positive and encouraging feedback. Families have told us they would value workshops on resilience, anxiety, sensory needs and sleep, and we are now exploring ways to provide information and sessions around these topics. We are also currently trialling a six-week resilience workshop for children. We are listening to your feedback and value your views – if you have any further thoughts about the survey or ideas to share, please email Wrights@cvps.rklt.co.uk.
Parents & Family Drop-In: Coffee and Chat
Come along to our next informal drop-in session for a coffee and a friendly chat on Thursday 25th June 9am - 10am.
Beth from PhunkyFoods will be joining us for this session and will be on hand to share fresh, easy ideas for healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks that children will love. She will also be bringing helpful resources on reluctant eaters, recipe cards, and some food tasters for you to try! This is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions and seek advice on any challenges you face around food and healthy lifestyles.
Mrs Fineran and Miss Wright will be there to answer any wellbeing questions.
We look forward to seeing you there.
