Miss McNamara's Message
Firstly, a huge well done to Apple Class, who represented our school brilliantly during filming in school today. Their behaviour was exemplary and they were a real credit to our school. We are very excited to share the finished footage with you soon and know families will be proud of how wonderfully the pupils conducted themselves. A big thank you to Miss Morrow for offering(!) to do this.
We were also delighted to welcome visitors from the English Hub this week. They were extremely impressed with the work taking place in phonics across the school. In particular, they praised the quality of teaching, the focus and effectiveness of our intervention groups, and the consistent routines children are engaging with daily.
Our school has also been buzzing thanks to a series of family workshops that have taken place this week and last week. Families have enjoyed getting involved in activities including soap making, soup making and puppet making, which have been a fantastic way to bring our community together and provide opportunities for shared learning. A huge thank you to Miss Wright for organising these engaging experiences for our families.
Finally, this week marked the final session of our Hip Hop workshops. The pupils have thoroughly enjoyed these energetic and confidence-building sessions, and it has been fantastic to see their enthusiasm and creativity shine. Thank you to Mrs Fineran for organising this opportunity for the children.
Lastly, thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Spare Uniform Reminder!
We often lend children spare uniform if they have slipped in mud, forgotten something they need, or had an accident that means they need a change of clothes. Each class has boxes of boys’ and girls’ uniform in the correct sizes so that we can quickly help pupils when needed.
At the moment our stock is quite low because many items have been lent out but not yet returned. It would really help us if any spare uniform could be returned so we can restock these boxes.
While we do have our Community Hub, the spare uniform boxes allow us to quickly find the right size for a child, minimise any embarrassment, and help them return to their lessons as soon as possible.
If your child has borrowed any uniform to take home, please could you return it to the class teacher, who will make sure it goes back into the correct box.

Changes to Ofsted Judgements
From November 2025, Ofsted will no longer issue one-word overall grades. Instead, schools will receive a detailed report card showing performance across several areas such as curriculum, behaviour, personal development, leadership, and inclusion, with safeguarding judged separately.

Parent Governor Election
Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination. As we have received multiple nominations, a formal election will now take place.
Candidate applications and the voting link have been emailed to all parents. Please use the link in that email to cast your vote. If you cannot access the online form, the school office can provide a paper ballot.
Each parent may vote once for one candidate. Multiple submissions from the same parent will void all votes from that parent.
Voting closes at 9:00am on Friday 20 March 2026. All votes will then be verified against parent records before the final count.
The successful candidate will take up the role immediately after verification.

🐞 Spring Active Tip: Bug Hunt Builder
Take a magnifying glass outdoors and go looking under logs, leaves, or stones (and remember to put everything back gently!).
This encourages children to be conscious of careful movement, squatting, reaching, and lots of curiosity!
