Friday Update - 14.11.2025

Posted 14th November 2025

Miss McNamara's Message

What a week! We always love to keep ourselves busy at Coppice Valley, and this week has been no different. As you will have heard, it has been assessment week, so the children have been busy showing off some of the things they have learnt so far. We know that assessments can feel stressful for some pupils, so our approach is always to reassure them that tests are just one measure of what they know. They are certainly not the full picture, and they don’t measure the truly important things, like kindness and curiosity.

It is our autumn parents’ meetings next week, and we are very much looking forward to seeing you all. The children’s books will be available to view in the school hall, along with our floor books, which will also be out for you to browse while you wait.

We currently have lots of building work happening in school — a sure sign of a thriving community — with even more beginning next week. Details of our new nursery works are included below, but we also have a canopy structure being installed at the back of the Forest Classroom w/c 24 November. This will help us expand our wraparound care provision and will provide a fantastic outdoor learning space for KS1. The installation will take three days from the middle of the week and should not affect drop-off or pick-up around the back of school. If any changes are needed, we will let you know.

And finally… the work in the Reception garden should be completed early next week too. Phew!

Nursery Works Update

Work will begin on our old bungalow this Monday as we start transforming it into our new nursery. Please note the car park will be a hive of activity, and parking and access will be limited during this time. Works vehicles will be accessing the site and have been asked to avoid drop-off and collection times wherever possible. If you have any concerns, please contact the school office and ask for Mrs Tunney.
