Miss McNamara's Message
The weather has been mixed but our week has been full of sunshine - we have had Bikeability, Nursery visits for the new Reception cohort, KS2 Forest School sessions, attended the Brownlee Mini Triathlon and completed the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check- all in just one week. We are really proud of all of our Year 1 pupils who completed the check and we will share our results with you in the coming weeks.
We also recently attended the RKLT Olympics, which you can read more about here: Red Kite Learning Trust Olympics (rklt.co.uk)
Next week, it is school photographs on Wednesday 18th June (except Year 6 who will have theirs another day). Please send your child in full school uniform (not PE kit). They may bring trainers to do their PE lesson, if it is their day.
Community News
Mrs Leach
Mrs Leach has been offered a fantastic role as Head of Early Years for Ambition Institute. Ambition Institute is a charity who provide training and professional development in education. This is a brilliant opportunity and it is the next step for Mrs Leach, as she moves away from teaching into the research and development sector. We will miss Mrs Leach, but this is not an opportunity she can miss! We wish her every success in the future and thank her for the difference she has made at Coppice Valley, as well as in her role as Director of Early Years for RKLT.
Mrs Hardy will be working alongside Mrs Baxter in Oak class in September (Mrs Baxter used to be Mrs Leach's Reception partner teacher, before Mrs Hardy came to Coppice). We know they will make a great team!
We need a baker!
We want to do some baking sessions in school with some small groups and we would love a confident baker to volunteer to lead these sessions alongside Miss Wright.
We need Air Fryers!
We are seeking air fryers to put on another parent-child workshop. If you know any sponsors or companies who may be interested, please let us know.
