Miss McNamara's Message
We have had another fab and fun-filled week at Coppice, despite it only being open four days.
This week, we’ve been celebrating Anti-Bullying Week, with the theme of “Choose Respect.” Pupils enjoyed kicking off the week with Odd Socks Day, celebrating individuality and kindness. Y2-Y6 took part in a special film-making workshop around the “Choose Respect” theme, and we’re excited to share the results soon - our pupils’ creativity and commitment to respect have shone through!
We’re thrilled to welcome some new additions to our school - a group of stick insects! A big thank you to one of our thoughtful parents for donating these creatures - they have already captivated the curiosity of our pupils and the stick-insects have enjoyed being read to as well!
Thank you to everyone who attended Parents’ Evening. We hope you enjoyed seeing your child’s books and discussing their progress with teachers. Your feedback is invaluable to us, so please take a moment to complete our survey here.
With the festive season fast approaching, our calendar is filling up quickly. Please be sure to check the dates at the end of the newsletter and add them to your own so you don’t miss any of the upcoming events.
Primary Science: Making it accessible & sustainable for all our learners
Today, for our INSET day, all of our class-facing staff are attending a Primary Red Kite Day which will bring together around 250 colleagues from across our 35 Alliance partner schools. The focus of the day will be primary science and how we can make it accessible and sustainable for all our learners. The themes of Primary Science, sustainability, climate awareness and outdoor learning will run through the keynote speeches and workshop sessions. We have been really looking forward to the day!
Verity Frearson Christmas Card Competition
The festive season is just around the corner and Verity Frearson are inviting local children to take part in their exciting Christmas challenge with the chance of winning £500 for our school!
'We're asking children to showcase their artistic skills and create a design for the Verity Frearson 2024 Christmas Card.'
PTFA - Christmas Cards
The children have been amazing, designing their own Christmas Cards. We have sent home the design and order forms this week.
The deadline for ordering with iCards is Friday 22nd November to ensure delivery of your cards in time for use this Christmas.
Mrs Dodd's Baby News
Mrs Dodd has had her baby! She now has Alice, who is 2 weeks old. A huge congratulations to Mrs Dodd and her family on this wonderful news,
Y4 Maternity Cover
We’re pleased to announce that Miss Morrow, an experienced teacher, will be joining the Coppice Team as the Year 4 class teacher, covering Mrs. Hawkins’s maternity leave. Starting in January, Miss Morrow will be relocating to the area, and we’re excited to welcome her to our school community.
