Friday Update - 19.06.2026

Posted 19th June 2026

Miss McNamara's Message

I always try to keep communication with families as digestible and succinct as possible, recognising that everyone is balancing busy family lives, work commitments and the many messages that come our way each day. However, I would ask that you take a few moments to read the two letters shared today, alongside this newsletter regarding mobile phones and social media.

The social media letter, in particular, affects every member of our school community and is a shared responsibility. My hope is that we can continue to take a balanced and common-sense approach, allowing families to capture those precious primary school memories whilst also respecting the privacy, wishes and safeguarding needs of others.

Thank you for taking the time to read both letters and for your continued support.

Additionally this week, I would like to celebrate Emma Baxter, who has done an amazing job planning all of our Sports Week events. The children have enjoyed such a wonderful breadth of opportunities throughout the week, and it has been fantastic to see them trying new activities, developing their skills and, most importantly, having fun.

I would also like to celebrate Sports Day, which was a huge success. The weather was perfect, creating a wonderful atmosphere for the event. A huge shout-out goes to all the staff who helped it run so smoothly, as well as to all the parents and family members who took part in our races. I think we had five parent egg-and-spoon races in EYFS and Key Stage 1 alone!

Some parents even reported feeling invigorated after sprinting for the first time in years! It was wonderful to see so many families joining in, embracing the fun and showing such great support for the children.

A huge thank you also goes to our staff, who were fantastic sports and donned inflatable costumes to entertain our community. Their willingness to join in, raise smiles and create memorable experiences for our children and families is just one of the many things that makes Coppice Valley such a special place.

Update of Details

As we approach the end of the academic year and begin preparing for September, we kindly ask that you take a few moments to check and update your contact details on Arbor - if you're unable to amend yourself, please email your change to office@cvps.rklt.co.uk.

This time of year often brings house moves and changes to contact information, so it is particularly important that we hold accurate and up-to-date records for your family.

Please log in to Arbor to review and update:

  • Home address
  • Email addresses
  • Telephone numbers
  • Emergency contacts

We also ask that you check and confirm your permissions for the next academic year (e.g. photos, trips, local visits), ensuring these are current and reflect your wishes.

Keeping this information up to date helps us to communicate effectively and ensures your child’s safety.

Thank you for your continued support.

FEAST Summer Holiday Activities & Food Programme – Important Update

FEAST vouchers will go live on Monday 22nd June at 12 noon.

To give families time to explore the wide range of activities available, providers will not begin accepting bookings until Thursday 25th June. This short window allows parents and carers to browse options and submit their booking requests before spaces are allocated, helping ensure as many children and young people as possible can take part.

From 25th June onwards, families will start to receive confirmation if their child has secured a place.

After the initial booking period, any remaining places will be allocated on an ongoing basis.

We encourage you to log on early, take a look at what’s on offer, and plan ahead!

Polite Reminder - Outstanding Balances

As we approach the end of the academic year, we kindly ask all families to check their accounts to ensure any outstanding balances are cleared. Please take a moment to log in and review:

  • Arbor – for school meals and trips
  • Enrolmy – for clubs and wraparound care

Clearing balances before the end of term helps us ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year and allows us to finalise our accounts. If you have any queries or need support accessing your accounts, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, we’re happy to help.

Eco Tip: Stay Safe & Save Water in Hot Weather

On hot days, keep cool while caring for the planet!

  • Reuse a refillable water bottle instead of single-use plastics, and fill it with tap water kept chilled in the fridge.
  • If you’re paddling or playing with water, use a shallow basin rather than running a hose continuously.
  • Always supervise children near water, wear sun protection, and take breaks in the shade to stay safe and hydrated.

Mrs Fineran and Miss Wright will be there to answer any wellbeing questions.

Everyone is welcome

We look forward to seeing you there.

Pre-Loved Uniform Donations

It’s that time of year for a clear out!

We would be very grateful for any donations of pre-loved school uniform. Items can be dropped off at our Community Hub or at the school office.
