Friday Update - 20.12.24 - Merry Christmas!

Miss McNamara's Message
As we reach the end of a busy 16-week term, I have been reflecting on all we’ve achieved and want to express my thanks to everyone in our school community. This term marks an incredible 44% of the way through our 36-week school year! It is no wonder we are exhausted!
We have: developed our English curriculum to strengthen our range of writing opportunities; set up a Forest School that now runs through the whole school; installed a canopy; installed an adventure trail; had murals painted; continued to develop our reading for pleasure offer with Tonie Boxes and closing the gaps in our libraries and begun the work to make playtimes more productive for pupils. It is no wonder we are exhausted! We are looking forward to continuing to action our school development plan in the New Year.
A huge thank you to parents and carers for joining us at this term’s festive events. From the Nativity performances to the Christmas Fair and carol concerts, your support has been incredible. These moments create lasting memories for our children and remind us all of the importance of our community.
This morning’s Values Assembly was the perfect way to round off the term. It was lovely to celebrate our three values (Brave, Kind, Curious) and to see children recognised for their kindness, resilience, and hard work. These values underpin everything we do at Coppice Valley, and it’s really important that we celebrate them and see them lived out every day in school.
As we head into the holidays, I hope you all have a chance to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with loved ones. Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, New Year, or simply the opportunity to take a break, I wish you two weeks full of joy and happiness.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back in January, ready for a new term packed with learning, growth, and opportunities. Until then, have a fantastic holiday and enjoy every moment.
School re-opens to pupils on Tuesday 7th January 2025.

Mrs Hawkins
This term, we say a temporary goodbye to Mrs. Hawkins, who is beginning her maternity leave as she prepares to welcome a new addition to her family in February. Mrs. Hawkins has been an incredible part of our Coppice Valley team, and her dedication to the children and school will be (temporarily) missed.
On behalf of everyone at Coppice Valley, we wish her all the best for next year.
We’re also pleased to welcome Miss Morrow, who will be taking over Year 4 from January.
Best wishes to Mrs. Hawkins – we can’t wait to hear all about her new arrival!
