Friday Update - 22.05.2026 - Happy Half Term!

Posted 22nd May 2026

Miss McNamara's Message

As we come to the end of another busy and successful half term, there has been so much to celebrate across school. From our pupils enjoying exciting learning opportunities in DT, to our Forest School sessions and celebrating our Brave, Kind, Curious Award winners and our top Dojo earners.

Recently, I have also had the privilege of visiting a number of other schools. These opportunities are always incredibly valuable - not only to see the fantastic work taking place elsewhere, but also to share the wonderful things happening here at Coppice Valley. I am always proud to talk about our school, our pupils and our staff, and each visit provides new ideas and reflections that I can bring back to continue strengthening what we do together at Coppice. One of the things that always stands out to me is the strong sense of community, care and ambition we have here. It is something that others notice too, and it is a credit to everyone connected with our school.

I hope that all of our families have a lovely and restful half term break and that the children enjoy some well-earned time to relax with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 2nd June.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Change of Training Day for 2026-27

Due to additional trust-wide professional development and training for staff, the previously planned training day on Friday 2nd July 2027 will now become a normal school day, and school will be open to all pupils as usual.

Instead, the new staff training day will take place on Friday 2nd October 2026, when school will be closed to pupils.

We appreciate that changes to published calendars can cause inconvenience and apologise for any disruption this may cause. This additional training opportunity will support our continued focus on high-quality teaching and learning across the school.

Please note that the school calendar on our website will be updated accordingly.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Polite Reminder - Outstanding Balances

As we approach the end of the academic year, we kindly ask all families to check their accounts to ensure any outstanding balances are cleared. Please take a moment to log in and review:

  • Arbor – for school meals and trips
  • Enrolmy – for clubs and wraparound care

Clearing balances before the end of term helps us ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year and allows us to finalise our accounts. If you have any queries or need support accessing your accounts, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, we’re happy to help.

🎨 Colour Run – Book Your Tickets now! 🎨

The colour run is a fun, non-competitive run or walk where participants are doused with coloured powder at various points along the course. Participants often wear white at the start of the race and get covered in vibrant colours. The emphasis is on fun, fitness and community, rather than speed or competition. All monies raised will be used to fund the next exciting project in school.

There will also be stalls and activities in the run-up to the race.

Please volunteer to help, as without support, the events can not take place.

To ensure we are covered by insurance, risk assessments, and licensing, we need everyone who wants to attend to purchase a ticket, whether as a runner or spectator. Purchasing tickets is consent to the waiver agreement.

PLEASE Note- all stalls will cease during the race so any volunteers can also take part in the main event.

Click here to access the PTFA page to purchase your tickets.

BAS 2026-27 Now Open on Enrolmy!

We’re pleased to let you know that bookings for our Breakfast Club and After School Club for the 2026–2027 academic year are now open on EnrolMy.

Families can book in a way that suits their needs — whether that’s:

  • Week-by-week
  • Individual sessions
  • Or even securing places for the entire year

Spaces can fill quickly, so we encourage you to book early where possible.

If you have any questions or need support with booking, please don’t hesitate to get in touch - we’re happy to help!

🌿 Community Garden Update – Call for Quotes

We’re delighted to share that we have been awarded a grant to install a raised and accessible wooden planter in our community garden!

We are now looking for a local supplier or contractor to provide a quote to complete this work. If you or someone you know can help, please get in touch with Miss Wright at wrights@cvps.rklt.co.uk.

Thank you for supporting our garden project!

Children's Wellbeing Survey

We have had a fantastic response to our Children’s Wellbeing Survey, with a high number of families taking the time to share their views. Thank you to everyone who completed it. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and will help us to better support our children’s wellbeing both in school and beyond. We are currently reviewing the responses carefully and will be sharing a summary of the key findings, along with our next steps, very soon.

Request for old magazines

If you have any old or spare magazines at home, we would be very grateful if you could donate them to school. Please drop them off at the school office or send them in with your child for Miss Wright. Thank you in advance for your support, it is greatly appreciated!
