Miss McNamara's Message

On Monday, we launched our whole-school writing unit centred around identity and self with an inspiring hip hop assembly and workshops. The day began with a lively assembly where all pupils were introduced to the rich culture and history of hip hop. They learned that hip hop is far more than music - it is a culture built on creativity, expression and community. We explored its elements such as breaking, graffiti art, DJing and MCing, and discussed how each form is rooted in storytelling and finding your voice.

During the assembly, pupils were encouraged to take out pen and paper and express themselves in this form, rather than online. We spoke about their role in life being to become the very best person they can be – to use their talents, their voice and their individuality positively.

The excitement then continued into workshops, which each class will take part in over the coming weeks. The children absolutely loved the launch  and it has been a brilliant whole-school start to our writing units.

A gentle reminder please that long hair should be tied up for school each day. This helps to ensure everyone is safe, comfortable and ready for learning, particularly active breaktime and PE sessions.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Hello HipHop workshops

Going forward, as these workshops involve active movement, it would be beneficial for children to wear their PE kit on their workshop days.

Lost Property

Please be aware that all unnamed items of lost property has now been moved to the Community Hub, this includes an abundance of lost hats, gloves and scarves.

We kindly request that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child's full name, enabling staff to ensure that lost items are returned to their owners.

FEAST Holiday Activities – Important Dates for Families

We’re pleased to share the key dates for the upcoming FEAST holiday activities programme. These activities are free for children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), and families can use their FEAST voucher to book sessions.

  • From Monday 2nd March - FEAST activities will be available to view on the FEAST website. An offline PDF guide will also be provided so families can browse all options and start planning before booking opens.

  • Midday on Monday 9th March - Vouchers will be issued to eligible families via the school’s HolidayActivities account. Once vouchers have been received, families can begin requesting places on their chosen activities.

Arbor & Enrolmy Balances

This is a gentle reminder to please check your Arbor and Enrolmy accounts and settle any outstanding balances if you are able to do so. Keeping accounts up to date really helps us manage school funds smoothly and continue providing high‑quality activities for the children.

We would also like to express our sincere thanks to all families who are able to contribute towards school trips and the workshops we invite into school. Your support makes a huge difference and helps us to continue offering enriching experiences for all of our pupils.

Nearly Spring Spotting Walk 🌼

The colourful crocuses on the Harrogate Stray are starting to appear, creating a beautiful splash of colour, and if you look closely, you may start to spot lively spring lambs in the local fields!

Play Spring Time Bingo - look for trees beginning to bud, leaves just starting to unfurl, and the first insects and birds becoming more active. A simple spring‑spotting walk encourages children to slow down, observe nature closely, and enjoy the early signs of the new season.
