As we come to the end of another fantastic and incredibly busy term, I want to take a moment to say thank you to our whole school community for all of your support.
This term has been full of learning, enrichment, achievements and memorable learning. We finished today with our Values Assembly, which was a lovely way to celebrate the children who consistently demonstrate our school values and make Coppice such a positive and special place to be.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to our staff team, who have worked tirelessly throughout the term. Schools are busy places every day, but this term has been especially full, and I am incredibly grateful for the commitment, care and energy our staff bring to school life.
This week, we also hosted a really successful PTFA Sponsored Bounce. A big thank you to everyone who worked behind the scenes to ensure its success, everyone who sponsored and of course, those who took part.
We hope you all have a happy, restful and enjoyable break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next term.
One of the things we would love to increase at Coppice is the wide range of trips, visits and workshops we offer our children. These experiences are a valuable part of school life and they help to bring learning to life.
We sometimes receive feedback that parents would like more of these. One of the barriers is to this is cost. Over the last two years, the school has had over £4,000 in unpaid trip costs, and unfortunately this does have an impact on our school budget. While we are very grateful that some families kindly choose to overpay or make donations where possible, this does not fully cover the shortfall. Due to regular non-payments for trips, we don't plan trips that we think may not be able to go ahead due to unforseen non-payments, and therefore this reduces our trip offer.
We completely understand that life is busy and that payments can sometimes be forgotten, so we kindly ask that families try to keep on top of payments for visits, trips and workshops where possible. If you do realise that you have forgotten to pay for something, this can still be done after the event via the Arbor Shop.
We are exploring the option of offering morning snacks supplied by Hutchisons, with a rotating 2-week menu that may include items such as crumpets, cheese on toast, oat cookies, bagels, waffles, pancakes, fruit, and more.
To help us understand interest, appeal, preferred commitment options, and suitable pricing, please take a moment to complete our short feedback form.
We are currently in need of spare clothing for children in KS1 and KS2.
If you have any of the following items in good condition, we would be very grateful for donations:
All donations can be handed in at the school office.
Thank you so much for your support!
A quick reminder that Year 6 hoodies are now available to purchase. Please follow the link included in your email to choose your child’s size and personalise their hoodie. The shop will close on Sunday, 12 April 2026 in order to ensure delivery for SATS week. If you have any questions, just let us know.

Late spring brings blossom to every corner of Harrogate. When you’re out and about—whether in local parks, on the Stray, or along favourite walking routes—take a moment with your child to spot the different blossom trees. It’s a lovely way to enjoy the season together and to talk about how these flowers help feed bees and other pollinators.
