Friday Update 7.6.24

Miss McNamara's Message
It is the final half term of the year and we can't quite believe it! This week, the children have been completing their summer assessments and we are already really pleased with the progress they have made. We use this data to understand progress, gaps and successful interventions and this informs our planning for both this half term and next year.
This week we are also celebrating our Year 4 pupils who completed the Multiplication Check on Thursday. This is a timed check which gives the children 25 random times tables questions, with up to 6 seconds to answer each one. Our Year 4 class are times tables superstars and we are looking forward to their results.
This week we also celebrated some staff with long-service awards. Richard Sheriff, our CEO, came in to school to present myself, Miss Hawkins and Mrs Leach our 5 year service award for the Red Kite Learning Trust. Mrs Batty and Mrs Jeyes both received their 10 year awards! We thank them for their work within our school and Trust and their commitment to ensuring the very best for our children.
Next week, we look forward to Y6 Bikeability.
We need you! PTFA Fundraiser
Verity Frearson have agreed to sponsor our Summer Fair (Saturday 13th July). They will advertise our summer fair with boards and for each board we receive £20 (for up to 30 boards).
These will need to be placed on a local homeowner's property. The property needs to be on prominent or fairly busy road (not down cul-de-sacs etc.) and would need to be approved by Verity Frearson as a suitable site.
If your or a relative's address could be a suitable site, please fill in this form with the address, contact name and number.
Thank you for your support!
Community Hub
Our Community Hub is open for business! Our Hub is always open, even if the doors are shut. Please feel free to take what you need and want from there. These resources are available to all of our community, not just parents.
Next week, we will be launching our 'Family Toolkits' for families to borrow. These are full of board games, self-care ideas and fun resources to use as a family. These can then be returned and swapped. Miss Wright will keep a waiting list, if necessary. There will be posters in the Hub with details of what is in each Family Toolkit.
We also need donations of larger school uniform. We have lots of age 5-6 school uniform and so if you know any parents with children starting in September, please encourage them to take from the Hub, rather than buying new.
Please keep feeding back to us about how we can continue to support. This week, you will have received our Family Support booklet - also available on our website.

Classes will be discussing this in assemblies, class assemblies and Circle Time.
On Friday 28th June, as a culmination celebration, we invite your child to wear bright colours to school.
