Miss McNamara's Message
This week's highlight has undoubtedly been the launch of our new canopy! Many of you may have seen our social media post showcasing this exciting addition. The canopy opens up endless possibilities—not only for our Forest School but also for all teachers to extend learning outdoors in a space that brings the curriculum to life. On Thursday afternoon, we filmed our Reception and Year 4 classes enjoying lessons under the canopy, and we can’t wait to share the footage to give you a taste of what’s to come. We're thrilled to use this space year-round, with plans to host events for parents and families too.
Our second highlight has been our Monster Kickabout, which was led by Miss Baxter this week. Monster Kickabout, a nationwide school football initiative by Sports Direct and Nike, aims to encourage more children to get involved in football. We hosted an intra-school tournament and were incredibly impressed - not only by the children’s skills but also by their 'sportsmanship', as they congratulated and supported one another throughout the tournament.
Next week, we will be marking Remembrance Day while also highlighting Anti-Bullying Week. We have a range of activities planned across all year groups to raise awareness of this year’s anti-bullying theme, including a film-making workshop for Year 2-6 on Thursday. The finished film will be shared on social media, so please ensure your child’s photo permissions are up to date if you would like them to be included in the final version. You can view your chosen permissions on Arbor, but will need to contact the school office if you wish to amend anything.
On Tuesday 12th November, it is odd-socks day, as part of our anti-bullying campaign. I am willing to swap a sock with anyone who forgets!
Parent/Carer Form for Medication
We now have an online form for parents and carers to fill out before bringing medication into school.
Please remember that all medication must be signed in at school and must include a complete pharmacy label with clear instructions. We are unable to accept non-prescribed medication; however, please contact the school if you need to discuss any specific circumstances.
Medications prescribed to be taken three times a day cannot be administered during school hours; only those prescribed four times daily can be given. If your child attends BAS, please reach out to the school, and we will consider these requests on a case-by-case basis.
Please find a link to the form here.

Good Luck Mrs Gibbons!
This week, we've been thinking of Mrs. Gibbons, who has now embarked on an exciting new journey in the civil service. Mrs. Gibbons has been an exceptional teacher at Coppice Valley, inspiring and positively impacting the lives of countless children over her years with us. Her dedication, warmth, and commitment to each pupil’s growth have left a lasting legacy in our school community, and she will be greatly missed by both staff and pupils alike. We wish her every success and happiness in her new career, confident that she’ll continue to make a difference wherever she goes.
PTFA
Thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas Fair planning meeting this week. We now have an idea of the number of people we need to run the stalls and fun things we have planned and we are short on volunteers. Even if you are not currently an active member of the team but could give us a few hours on the 7th December to help please can you email ptfa@cvps.rklt.co.uk. We are looking for people 12.30 - 15.30.
BAS are taking donations for the Tombola/Raffle, filled jars for the Jar-bola and pre loved teddy bears from now, so please send children in and drop them in forest - go on its time for a pre Christmas clear out. On the day we will be accepting labelled (ingredients) baked or bought goods to sell in the café.
Dates for your diary: Dress down day Friday 29th November in exchange for a chocolate bar KS1 or a bottle (of anything) KS2 for the fair.
Thank you in advance!
