Friday Update - Back to School!
Posted 6th September 2024
Message from Miss McNamara
Welcome back! It has been a brilliant first week, welcoming all of our children back in to school. It is lovely to see so many children looking so smart, there are lots of shiny shoes and new jumpers in school! If you do have any uniform needs, please remember to help yourself in our Community Hub.
The children have been brilliant at getting back into the swing of the school routine and have all settled so well into their new classrooms with their new teachers. There have been so many lovely activities going on in classrooms, wonderful art work for displays and I have been so impressed with the challenging maths happening already!
Over the summer we had some building works going on in school; we had our emergency lighting re-done around the whole school and the cabin has been demolished and replaced with lovely, new grass. This has opened up more space in our EYFS outdoor area and given us space to develop the grounds further.
We have a really busy school year ahead and we have some really exciting upcoming developments. I will shortly be sharing with you a parent-friendly version of our school development plan, so you can look forward to the year ahead too!
Next week, we have our start of year/welcome meetings; you have already received e-mails with the dates for these. We will offer childcare for Coppice Valley children in the hall during these meetings (not non-school age children or secondary siblings). We know that not all parents can attend these meetings and so we will be putting the information on the class pages and sharing this with you afterwards.
Headteacher Tours
We are very excited to be welcoming our new Reception cohort next week and whilst we do, tours for prospective parents for our 2025 cohort will also begin! If you have (or know of anyone who has) a child who will be starting school in September 2025, please book a tour of our lovely school by calling the school office on 01423 563 760 or e-mail the admin team: office@cvps.rklt.co.uk
Y6 Secondary School Visits
If you are a parent or carer of Year 6 pupil, please look out for the e-mails from our admin team, for the open days and evenings for you to attend. Sometimes you have to book onto the evening/day in advance.
Cool Milk
If you wish your child to have milk at breaktime, please sign up via the Cool Milk website.
