Friday Update from CVPS
Posted 16th June 2023
Dear Parents & Carers,
Sports Day
You’ll have received an email about Sports Day changes today. We’re cutting back on the amount of time outside each class is out for and running a reduced programme, so the children don’t overheat but you’ll still be able to enjoy watching your children compete in their races.
Miss McNamara, our new interim headteacher from September will be in school on Tuesday to meet the staff and children, and to begin handover work with me. She will be in school again on Tuesday 3rd July. I will be introducing you to her at drop off and pick up time on that day so do come over and say hello, if you’d like to meet her.
New Staff
We’re delighted to welcome Mrs Danford and Miss Witton who are joining us as teaching assistants. Both are highly experienced in working in schools. Their photos and profiles will be on the staff section of the website very soon.
Class photos on Wednesday
Just a reminder that class photos are on Wednesday 21st June. Children need to be in school uniform. If they have PE on Wednesday, please send their PE kit in a bag to change into, on this one occasion.
Year 6 Leavers’ assembly, Friday 21st July
Parents of Year 6 pupils are invited to the Year 6 Leavers’ Assembly which will start at 9.10am. After drop off, please make your way around the building to the school hall, where you can enter through the fire door at the front of the building.
Roosters Fundraising for the Playground Equipment
A big thanks to everyone who supported the Roosters fundraiser event last week. The evening raised just short of £700 for the playground equipment, which is an amazing contribution to our project.
Weather Next Week
It still looks like it will be hot next week, although a bit cooler than we’ve experienced this week. Please continue to send children with hats, water bottles and long-lasting sun cream.
The Harrogate Music Centre Open Morning will be taking place on Saturday 1st July from 09:30-12:30 at St Aidan’s C of E High School.
Harrogate Music Centre is a thriving centre that provides musical opportunities to people in the Harrogate community of all ages and abilities and on Saturday 1st July we are opening our doors to all in the Harrogate area that would like to come and experience what we offer. This is an opportunity for anyone that currently plays an instrument and for those that don’t yet play but would like to in the future.
Kind regards,
Emma Meadus, Headteacher
Coppice Valley Primary School
