Message from Miss McNamara
This week's highlight has certainly been seeing Oak and Beech class practising for their performance of (the very) Wriggly Nativity! We will take lots of pictures for our social media, so you can see our flock of sheep and shining stars!
Tomorrow (Saturday 9th December), we are really looking forward to our Christmas Fair, which will be in school from 2pm-4pm. Please do come down for some festive fun; entry is free and there are some great raffle prizes to be won. Festive attire is optional!
A huge well done to our choir who performed last Saturday night in the Harrogate Christmas Concert. It was a fantastic evening and I felt so proud of all the children. A massive thank you to our school staff (Miss Ramsey, Mrs Jeyes and Mrs Batty) who gave up their Saturday to make it happen.
Crafternoons
Our class 'crafternoons' have been really lovely so far and the children have made some brilliant decorations (which I know will take pride of place on the front of your Christmas trees for years to come). A reminder of the rest of the dates below - let's see how much more hot chocolate and mince pies we can get through.
St John's Christmas Carol Concert
We are looking forward to our carol concert on Monday 18th December. Please arrive from 2pm, for a 2:15pm start. Parents/carers attending will be able to take children home after the concert. Children who usually walk home by themselves or attend after-school clubs will be walked back to school by staff.
SEND/ Mental Health Drop-in
On Tuesday 12th December, there will be a SEND/mental health drop-in session 9am-10am. If you have any questions about, SEND or mental health, this is an opportunity for an informal chat over a drink and biscuit, with Mr Cawte and/or Miss Wright. Mrs Fineran will also be in school and so you will be able to say 'hello'.
School Closes
We are closing at 2pm on Thursday 21st December. As usual, there will be no after-school clubs this day. We re-open to children on Tuesday 9th January 2024.

Christmas Jumper Days
To get the most out of your child's Christmas jumper - we have a few dates on which they can wear them to school (to reduce the cost-per-wear!).
- Thursday 7th December:The official 'Christmas Jumper Day' (with school trousers/skirt).
- Wednesday 13th December: Christmas dinner day (with school trousers/skirt).
- Thursday 14th December:Year 1 only (with school trousers/skirt).
- Monday 18th December:St Johns (with school trousers/skirt) .
- Your child's 'Christmas Crafternoon' (with school trousers/skirt).
In January, we will be collecting donations of Christmas jumpers, so that we can offer a Christmas jumper swap shop in November 2024, as part of our community goals to reduce landfill and support families.
