Friday Update - 19.06.2026

I always try to keep communication with families as digestible and succinct as possible, recognising that everyone is balancing busy family lives, work commitments and the many messages that come our way each day. However, I would ask that you take a few moments to read the two letters shared today, alongside this newsletter regarding mobile phones and social media. The social media letter, in particular, affects every member of our school community and is a shared responsibility. My hope is that we can continue to take a balanced and common-sense approach, allowing families to capture those precious primary school memories whilst also respecting the privacy, wishes and safeguarding needs of others. Thank you for taking the time to read both letters and for your continued support.

Friday Update - 12.06.2026

It has been another busy and successful week at Coppice Valley, with pupils representing our school brilliantly on two visits. Our Year 3 and Year 6 pupils enjoyed their school trips this week (to York Art Gallery and Leeds City Museum) and they were a real credit to our school. Their behaviour, manners and attitudes throughout the visits were exceptional, and staff received many positive comments from members of the public. Year 6 particularly enjoyed travelling by train, which was an exciting part of the experience for many children and also helped to keep transport costs to a minimum. Well done to all of the pupils involved for representing Coppice Valley so positively.

Friday Update - 05.06.2026

The week began with a staff INSET day, where we had the opportunity to trial our new pizza oven (well done to Mrs Brook!). We have also started nursery tours for families interested in our brand-new nursery, which opens in September, welcomed a film crew into school, and hosted the RKLT Education Board. It was a pleasure to welcome the Chairs and Vice Chairs of Governors from across the Trust, alongside members of the RKLT Senior Leadership Team, who visited Coppice to see our school in action and hear a presentation from myself about securing grant funding. As if that wasn't enough... this week we also hosted our very first Bushcraft Residential.

Friday Update - 22.05.2026 - Happy Half Term!

As we come to the end of another busy and successful half term, there has been so much to celebrate across school. From our pupils enjoying exciting learning opportunities in DT, to our Forest School sessions and celebrating our Brave, Kind, Curious Award winners to our top Dojo earners.

Friday Update 15.05.2026

This week, I would like to extend a huge congratulations to our Year 6 pupils and staff for the fantastic way they prepared for and approached their assessments. The children showed great resilience, determination and maturity throughout the week, and we are incredibly proud of the calm and positive attitude they demonstrated. A special thank you also goes to the Year 6 team for all of their hard work, care and dedication in supporting the pupils so well.

Friday Update 08.05.2026

It has been another exciting and positive week at Coppice Valley, with lots to celebrate across our school community. Firstly, I am absolutely delighted to share that Mrs Brown will be joining our EYFS team in a two-day teaching role in September. Mrs Brown brings warmth, experience and enthusiasm, and I know she will be a fantastic addition to our Early Years provision. We are very pleased to have her joining the team at such an exciting time for our school, as we begin to get to know our new Reception cohort.
