Message from Miss McNamara

world book dayThis week we had the English Hub in school for a day to observe our phonics lessons and reading groups across Oak, Beech and Ash class. The advisor was really impressed with the learning since their last visit, the children's reading and the organisation of our resources. In the report, she wrote that our approach to phonics and reading teaching is 'seamless' and commented on how lucky we are to have such committed and conscientious staff.

We are looking forward to next week and World Book Day! As you know, we are dressing up as a word. You may want to be 'colourful', 'fancy', 'cool' or 'neon'. See our social media posts for more ideas.

Mr O'Leary & Staffing

A letter has gone out to Year 6 parents today explaining that Mr O'Leary will be leaving us at Easter; he has accepted a job opportunity with the Civil Service. Whilst we are sad to lose such an excellent teacher, we wish him the best of luck for the future.

From September, Miss Ramsay will become the Year 6 class teacher - she is really looking forward to teaching in Key Stage 2. We will therefore be advertising for a Year 2 teacher and we will update you once an appointment has been made.

Expected school attendance is 95% or more (set by the DfE) however, we have a school attendance target of 97%.

Your child's attendance report card is available on the Arbor Portal.

This week's attendance is: 97.9% - well done everyone!!

School year so far: 95.4%

Our registers close at 9am and so your child will miss their attendance mark, if they arrive after this time.
