Message from Miss McNamara
As always, this week has been filled with fun at Coppice.
Each Friday, when I reflect on the week, I continue to be amazed at how much we manage to fit in. This week, we have had a 3(!) guest speakers in assembly, a slow cooker workshop, a fantastic assembly from Apple class and not to mention the air ambulance using our field to land on in the middle of morning break! Beth from Phunky Foods has also delivered a workshop in Year 3 where they made Anglo Saxon bread, fit for royalty with oats on the top.
Next week, we look forward to workshops from Northern Ballet.
PTFA
The PTFA want to give a huge thank you for all for your donations, enthusiasm and spending at the Christmas fair. It was such a wonderful community event and it was brilliant to see so many of you there, including past pupils. The PTFA met this week and can confirm that the fair raised an AMAZING £1645.02 for our school.
The next PTFA meeting will be in Forest classroom at 6pm on Monday 26th February, all welcome.
Radio Stars
Next week, Coppice is 'School of the Week' on Your Harrogate.
5 of our children will be on the radio feature at around 7:35am. You can listen in your car on DAB radio, ask your smart speaker to play 'Your Harrogate' or listen online.
Well done to Dylan, Tyler, Reese, Kitty and Hugo who impressed with their professionalism when we recorded.
Road Closure
You will have seen the yellow signs informing us of road closures around the school, including Coppice Avenue, from January 22nd - 9th February at 7:30am-5:30pm.
We expect this will cause some disruption to the area and so please do leave extra time in the morning to get to school on time. If you can walk, please do, to keep congestion in the area to a minimum.
Attendance
We have a school target for our attendance of 97%.
This week's attendance is: 92.8%
School year so far: 95.8%
Arriving after 8:55am, which is when registers are taken, affects attendance. Our registers close at 9am.
This week, 19 children have been late to school.
Navigating January's Challenges
We know January is a tough month, both for mental health and finances. We are here to support all our families, so please reach out if you need us.
Speak with a member of staff if you would like help with anything, including food. We also have a new e-mail address: support@cvps.rklt.co.uk for you to use, if you are ever unsure of who to contact.
We are committed to the success and happiness of our children and families.
Family Breakfast
Our family breakfast is on Tuesday 23rd January.
We welcome you to the school hall from 8:15pm-8:45am for a chance to chat to staff, meet other parents and enjoy a continental breakfast.
Please then take your child out to their classroom door, as usual.
