Oracy
At Coppice Valley, we use the Oracy framework that was designed by The Communication Trust.
The ‘Communicating the curriculum’ framework provides progression points for children across year groups, based on the 12 statements which make up the Programme of Study. This enables us to define and monitor progression within the National Curriculum Programme of Study for Spoken Language. The use of carefully planned, modelled and scaffolded talk in the classroom heightens subject knowledge and understanding for our learners.
Our oracy toolkit comprises of discussion guidelines, discussion sentence stems, talk protocol, discussion roles, different groupings, opportunities to perform / present / debate through our Coppice 50.
