We have had another lovely week at Coppice Valley! We have continued practising the shared routines that help our children feel confident, settled and ready to learn. From our ‘Show Me Five’ listening routine and ‘One Mindful Minute’ to lining up after lunchtime, these familiar routines help everyone move calmly and happily through the school day as well as maximise learning time.
I also met with the PTFA this week, and we are excited about growing our PTFA community this year. Please join us for the AGM on Monday 19th October at 6pm, with children welcome and pizza and refreshments available. Coming along involves no commitment to joining for the year - it is simply a chance to meet others, hear about upcoming events and our PTFA priorities, and share your own ideas. A form will be sent out so you can let us know if you can attend (and how many pizzas to order!)
We have also been busy welcoming prospective families looking at places for September 2027, including our youngest learners. We have received some wonderful feedback, and it is always a pleasure to share what makes Coppice Valley special. If you haven’t seen inside school for a while, take a look at the video on our Facebook page for a little glimpse into life at Coppice!

In partnership with Knowsley CLCs, all parent/carers are invited to an online safety briefing. This session will explore
all aspects of children's online lives including associated risks, the latest trends and data and practical guidance on how you can support them to stay safe and thrive online.
Just a quick reminder about our recent message regarding the changes to Free School Meals (FSM).
If your household is receiving Universal Credit, please remember to check whether your child may now be eligible. The rules have changed, and more families may qualify.
If you haven’t already done so, please take a few minutes to reapply. The application is quick, simple and confidential.

Next week, Beech Class are heading out on their first Geography fieldwork visit to the park! 🗺️🔎 The children are super excited to explore and put their Geography learning into practice. We also have a special visitor coming into school to talk to us about water safety. 💧 We can’t wait to learn some important safety messages!

Want to know more about the PTFA, how they support the school community and how you can get involved? Come along to the AGM!
Everyone is welcome, including children, and there will also be pizza and soft drinks provided and games to keep the kids entertained.
We are looking to appoint a new PTFA Secretary at this year's AGM following the resignation of our current secretary.
The Secretary is a key member of the PTFA, helping to keep communication flowing between the PTFA, school and families. Responsibilities include preparing agendas, taking and distributing meeting minutes, managing correspondence, supporting PTFA events and assisting with newsletters and publicity.
If you are organised, enjoy working as part of a team and would like to support our school community, we would love to hear from you.
